- As the patients number is more in the hospital , there is a shortage of equipments
- Since a lot of staffs are working , sometimes it’s overcrowded
- Staffs are less in number which again creates a problem to look after so many people
Course Curriculum Overview
The current curriculum in medical colleges of karnataka is CBME curriculum. It includes applied aspects as a result of which we are more exposed to patients and their health issues. It is a effective method as we learn practically from the very first year rather than mugging up through books. Exams are conducted once in a year but there will be 3 internals conducted from the college where a minimum of 40 % is necessary for eligibility to write the final exam. Even the attendance of 80% is necessary to be considered as eligible for writing the final exam.
Internships Opportunities
Since its a mediacl college , internsip is usually after the 4th year . It includes a duty hour of 365 days where some days are hectic has we have to deal with 36 hour shift. Since the hospital is overcrowded during outburst of diseases , there is shortageof equipments and staffs.
Fees and Financial Aid
Government seat is medical college is not too expensive. The total fees for an year comes about 1.5 lakh. Scholarships for medical students are also provided. State government provides ssp scolarship whereas central government provides nsp scolarship. There are other private institutions which provides financial assistance through scolarship if met with their terms and conditions.
Campus Life
Our college provides majorly 3 culturals. One is pregrads which mainly involves graduation ceremony for interns . It is usually held in the month of april or may. Second one is college fest which takes place during the month of august . It continues for more than a week and includes all the types of programs and cultures. 3rd one os sports meet which happes in june.
Hostel Facilities
Since I stay in a government hostel , the basic facilities are good and very affordable . A room is provided for 3 people during the first 2 years whereas 2 people share the room in the last 3 years of mbbs. Menu includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tea /coffee/ milk is provided in the evening. Hostel is provided on the basis of seat being allotted in the college. Its a offline process whereas the paymet has to be online.
Admission
Our admission was through kcet counselling.It regarded our neet scores and ranking and we were allotted colleges according to our ranks.Eligibility for the medical seat was Neet score.Neet exam is conducted all over india once in a year . Exam is usually conducted in the month of may (first week). It is considered as one of the most difficult exam in India.
