Remarks

no such words which can explain my amazing stay at this campus. there are also some shortcoming but what we should focus on is positive in life.

Entrance Preview

I got admission through CAT (common admission test) and my rank was 1200 state rank. Therefore admission was hassle free and at that point of time the mechanical branch was a trademark of gndec and thus why i opted for this.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Good course curriculum and not much typical as i would say my was 2009 batch and now syllabus is revised by university, course curriculum is focused on study and pass theory . Regarding research if you are asking there is nothing really new in this college may be not on undergraduate level can not comment regarding that at post graduation level.

Internships Opportunities

There is availability of junior research fellowship program and other program if you are interested but it is very rare that you will find that in the time when needed why i am saying this has some specific reason. They don't have a good notification board online which is why not everyone can assess what is going on.

Placement Experience

4

Approximately 60 percent students from my batch were placed in big multi national companies and i was one of them. I got placed in thermax ltd. From campus placement program for a package of 4.0 lacs per annum. Which i feel is great for a fresher maximum package for that batch was 7.0 lpa.

College Events

3.5

At my time there was a technical festival in the odd semester and genesis in even semester. I still remember the enthusiasm and zeal that i experience at genesis 2013 various singers and artists visit our campus for a very multi talented youth fest. Also there is annual athletic meet in college in even semester.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I must say this college is becoming a donation college at my time fees were not that much high but now what i am seeing is that they are increasing fees by 1000 by each year and thus it is becoming out of reach of normal and average student. They have quotas for gill donor which i feel is reducing quality standard for college.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is punjab government giving scholarships for various courses and also there are other government giving scholarships for other state students.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is just outstanding and you gonna remember your day with friends at lipton, nescafe, t point and tuck shop. You surely remember bunking class, gurudwaras langer(food for which hostlers crave for) and thus i am true fan of this college atmosphere.

Hostel Facilities

2

Being a hosteler i see all this things like mess foodmess food is one of the worst of the quality and regarding hostel the rooms are very old with no white washing and there is lack of other basic facilities that you have in other colleges and thus i woul

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni meet are organized every year. Thus most of the college friends stay in touch. I still go on trip every month with my friend from college.

Exam Structure

During exam time you will feel very uncomfortable just because the semester system wastes much of time and the regular cultural as well as technical events and function will hamper your studying hours daily. hence to be able to pass exam on merely last we

Faculty

4

Faculty is not that much influential as that everyone need at that point of life stage but you can put this as an excuse on the academics front. They are best in their business and that is why this college is regarded on of the top engineering institute i

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
