Remarks

As I said earlier, this college is suited only for nerds. One can expect no fun during their college time.

Entrance Preview

Panimalar Engineering college is known for discipline. On that regard, to have a professional career, I have opted this college after consulting with my Parents and Alumnus. Moreover, the ambiance and infrastructure of the college are neat and sound.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is as per the Anna University. The course was depth and all the required knowledge about the field can be acquired at the end of four years. Again, the courses will be up to the knowledge of Bachelors who have no prior experience in the field.

Internships Opportunities

Yes. College provided internship only for the backward castes. This is the thing which was hated by most of the students. 20k INR was the general stipend.

Placement Experience

3

Placements were good compared to other colleges around the block. Most of the companies which visited were Multinational ones. And there is no job guarantee. Fetching a job depends on the student on a whole. To attend campus interviews, one got to maintain no arrears. Most companies offered around 3 to 3.5 Lakhs CTC.

College Events

1

This is the place where our college lacked. Only one cultural event will take place on your entire four-year term and that too will be on the year one. Apart from cultural, departments organize symposiums every year where students from other colleges will visit and take part.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was so expensive. The cost of food and travel were around 30k INR back in 2012. And the tuition fee was around 70k INR. Totally one would have to pay around 1 Lakh every year irrespective of the type of student who you are (Merit or Management)

Fees and Financial Aid

No such things are offered by the college. But the toppers of each semester (from each department ) receives a cash cheque of 30k INR.

Campus Life

2.5

Campus life is like a school life. No mobile phones and no talking to girls. Yes. Talking to opposite gender is treated as a crime here. If found, things would escalate and you would have to bring your parents to the college. No sports, No extracurricular, and no competitions were held upto my knowledge.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel had all the facilities like the gym, a playground, a small cinema hall, Barber shops, and a small hospital. But no amenities like Wi-Fi or Television. Mobile phones are banned inside the campus which made lives of the hostellers very difficult. Food was good. Nonveg for 4 days and veg for 3 days in a week.

Alumni/Alumna

You will have absolutely no touch with seniors during college time. The only time one can talk to a senior is when you are travelling home in a college bus.

Exam Structure

Exam structures were neat. Mostly internal exams happen during mornings and you can leave home after your exam. During exams, a staff will inspect your paper. If you are found to have a poor run on the exam, you will be asked to stay back after the exam where you have to take extra coaching classes.

Admission

The minimum cut-off required to obtain a seat in this college was 95%+ back in my day (2012). Those who have such exceptional percentages can apply through Anna university counselling. Entering such way will be treated as merit entry. And anothet sort of entry is to pay a hefty donation to get in.

Faculty

3

Faculties were upto the mark. Neither outstanding nor dull. On some cases, faculties were dumb too. But mostly, faculties would have no trouble to handle the subject which has been assigned to them. But some faculties lacked the practical knowledge of the subject which is being handled.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspect which is great future on IT Field of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course. The curriculum prepared me to solve tough real-world logical aptitude test and coding test. The course curriculum is only based on the theory in several areas. My suggestion is to improve that too in practical manner for better real-world understanding. The frequency and the timing of my exams along with my perspective on the difficulty level is 2hrs.

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming.
