What Students Say
Likes
- Books are mainly what i liked and a lot can be milked from the books if you actually read them.
- Affordability is the reason I joined this college.
- We don't have to waste our times in attending classes for the sake of getting minimum attendance. We can study when we want from books/youtube
Dislikes
- The checking is very poor, they just give passing marks everytime regarless of what is written.
- The books are very old and not upto date(still very informative but they need an upgrade)
- The faculty is always very busy. We ask our doubts our teachers are aimed at selling their courses.
Course Curriculum Overview
The books and overall syllabus is pretty good with respect to what is being taught in private colleges (I have friends in pvt colleges) although as this is an open college, no one every studies full syllabus, everyone just shows up at the exam center studied enough to pass the exam. The course does not prepare us for real world applications and we have to gather that knowledge on our own!
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is already pretty less as it is a government organization. The sem fees is broken down into fees (6500) and books (1500) which is optional. We also have to fill exam form which costs 200 for every theory subject and 300 for every practical subject.
Campus Life
There is no social/campus life in an open university. We were promised that we will be taught offline on Sundays and Saturdays but we were not. We were taught online for a few sessions and that's it. Although I did make some friends after joining telegram groups.
Admission
The application process for ignou was pretty simple. I just had to fill a form with all my details. The tough part of filling the form was that the size limit of pics was very less. I had to compress my pics many times in order to be able to upload them. 2-3 days after I filled the form, I got a mail that said I had been enrolled with my ID card and everything.
