Remarks

college management is well managed and university VC, college director, academics dean work together for the betterment of students future.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

All the courses that are offered at the institute are research driven as practical works is carried out along with theoretical knowledge. College exam structure is simple, in four years you have to give eight semesters along with the monthly test. Through technology, science, cultural awareness, personality development and sports college make you a better professional.

Placement Experience

1.5

The placement of gzsccet, Bathinda is average. textile engineering department gets 100% placement every year and computer science engineers also get 60% placements.apart from these two branches, you have to work really hard to get placements in other streams as in campus placements other than textile, cs there is less than 20% campus selection.b.architecture mainly get jobs from off-campus placements.

College Events

3.5

every department organizes its events and an annual day, events are organized by all departments. other than this cultural and educational events are organized with emphasize on overall development of individuals.every calendar events such as independence day, republic day, martyrs day etc also gets celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure varies every year as per state government rules, in the year 2014-15, it was around 60000 per semester but now in the year 2018-19, it is around 75000 per semester. the fee structure is flexible in odd semesters and if an individual gets admission in a certain year lets say 2017 then he has to pay according to 2017 fee structure and if he gets admission in 2018 then he has to pay according to 2018 fee structure.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I don't 0pted for any scholarship or education loan in my college days. scholarships are given to the candidate who is ready to apply for education loan they have to give application regarding education loan to respective departments.

Campus Life

3.5

campus life is full of opportunities to do and learn new things, the gender ratio is around 70-30.extracurricular activities are well organized such as debates, sports, quiz competition, cultural competitions and they are well managed by convener and co-conveners.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

the hostel fees were 7500 per semester in the year 2014 and the facilities at the hostel are good with modern infrastructure. free wifi is available along with the library, common room, sports ground and mess facilities are also available. newly admitted students to the institute are given extra security by the college administration in order to avoid any threats of ragging.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very well contained on the official website of gzsccet and is under gizsaa portal.alumni are helpful and senior students interaction is very well managed departmental wise. senior students work with juniors to introduce them with departmental work on practicals and are willing to help if any query arises.

Admission

I got the admission in gzsccet, Bathinda in the year 2014 and it was through email that I knew about this college and its admission procedure and dates of admission. Admission was in last week of July so I go out there with my Jeemains mark sheet and class12(senior secondary mark sheet)and various other educational documents was required at the time of admission.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college is awesome as they emphasize more on practical works and relate them with theoretical knowledge with ease. every faculty is highly professional, skilled and subject experts. everyone in the faculty group is ready to help and gives the motivation to achieve greater heights.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
