GMRIT, Transportation Engineering

Reviewed on Nov 12, 2015

Entrance Preview

I had got rank in PGCET and interested to do in Transportation Engineering. And is best for Cleverer Students.

Internships Opportunities

Yes. but for civil Engineering departments students they will provide internships in GMR company with free of food and Accomadation. But no stipend will be paid to the students during the internship time.

Placement Experience

Major reputed comapanies in India like L&T, GMR. Will visit for the recruiting the students for Highway and Railway Projects. Company placements will be more for the software students. But less for civil Engineering students. Placed are 10 in bothe the companies. They offer 29000 with food and Accomadation.

College Events

Every year the technical fest name stepcone. Will be celebrated in the instution on the month of january which consists of involvement of all the departments and all technical contest related to the will be celebrated in this. Separate sports activity fests will also be conducted in the institution by inviting other college students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Some expensive for the B.Tech courses it is about greater than the 80000/- for every branch in the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes scholarships will be given to the persons with every semester marks greater then 90% merit scholarship is given 5000/-. But for the poor people they will offer the GMR vaalakshmi Education loan to be paid when doing job afte the completion of course.

Alumni/Alumna

No comments they will conduct every years in the college campus itself. Senior interaction is so good with plenty of new thing related course etc.

Exam Structure

Exams were held in the college campus only as it is gmrit autonomous institution. Laboratory if so well equiped withe the recent technology softwares and machineries etc. mechanical department is top for the laboratory.

My college journey

Likes

I like the facilities provided by the college like labs.
I like the placements provided by the college. Companies are too good.
I like the education quality and practical explanations

Dislikes

very often we are unable to get cooling water. but within two minutes it will be covered.
management is giving equal opportunities to everyone . What I felt is they should concentrate on toppers.
college management won't allow students to go out side of the campus without permission

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities in my college are good and provide students reasonable career opportunities Approximately 70% of students got placed in the campus recruitment. Apart from on campus drives management encourages students to enhance their skills and gives suggestions in applying out of campus drives.

I like the innovative teaching method in our college, where we undergo with different activities that makes us to understand the concepts in an easy way

Dislikes

Network issue in college environment as well as in hostel

Placement Experience:

Campus placements start from the 3-2 semester with pre-placement training, aptitude test, coding rounds and interviews. Companies like HSBC, Prowess soft, ADP, Infinite computer solutions and many more companies visited the campus for recuritment. The average package is around 3.5 LPA while the highest package is 16.43 LPA in 2026 and varies each year. I was selected by Infinite Computer Solution in 4-1 semester itself with a package of 4.5 LPA. After my graduation, I plan to build my career in software development and enhance my techinal skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got civil engineering in my college. As our country is in developing mode the role of civil engineers is going to be crucial. The interdisplinary subjects prepare us for the challenges faced other than civil engineering.each month we have a exam to be specific 2 minors 1 mid term and 1 end term examination.the difficulty level is somewhat moderate. If we thoroughly go through teachers's notes and practice a few problems it is going to be very helpful
