Remarks

Talking of hyderabad campus land in the campus can be utilized more judiciously. Though the infrastructure is sufficient for every need of the student but there are large empty spaces of land which can be utilized for something good.

Entrance Preview

My BITSAT score was 332/450 mains rank - 12k and advance rank-12k (screwed up my paper). So I had to make a choice between a NIT or BITS and I choose BITS for obvious reasons.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum in bits is very flexible. Students have to make their own timetable, select their teachers, here they also have zero % attendance which is the icing on the cake. All the BITSIANS have to go though P.S (practice school) twice in their tenure of four years which is only followed in BITS in india. Also bits adjusts to the changes in curriculum faster than any other institutes in india even the IIT's ( for eg: Engineering graphics is taught using autocad software in BITS whereas in majority of other institutes it is taught using drafter). And the dual degree scheme is also worth mentioning. In which a student takes addmission in a Msc course and after first year is alloted a B.E course on the basis of CGPA. It is also a feature exclusive to bits.

Internships Opportunities

Still to undergo internship. But the 2nd PS has a stipend.

Placement Experience

5

Placements of BITS PILANI as an university is well known. But on a serious note the placements are pretty good for braches CS, ECE, EEE and decent for other branches same as which is case with other engineering colleges in india.

College Events

5

We have 3 fests in our hyderabad campus:1) Tecnical- ATMOS 2) Sportes- ARENA3) Cultural- PEARLFootfall in them is respectable and there is also an literary fest in our campus - The Verba Maximus.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are various scholarships like the MCN( merit cum need) which is applicable to candidates whose family income is less than 5lpa ( not sure). Scholarships are also given to top 15-20 admitted candidates in each campus on the basis of their bitsat score. Scholarships are also awarded on the basis of CGPA.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is pretty awesome. Everything right from addmission process to club inductions, managing fests, clubs, departments and even calling various companies for placements is taken care off by the students. Gender ratio is also good when compared to iit's. Various clubs operate wherein juniors with the help of seniors can grow in feilds like robotics, coding etc and showcase there talent in the technical fest-ATMOS. Bits also has no reservations so students from every state can be found. Also there are certain seats reserved for NRI's under the buddy program which gives us a better exposure to the outer world. Bits is more of an overall development than only academic development.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are pretty amazing. And are way better than most other government and private institutions. Even among the three sister campuses the hyderabad campus has the best infrastructure. Fees is a little bit on a higher side but given the infrastructure a

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network of bits is very strong with a bitsian in every field. Ragging or more precisely interation are very lite here in bits. But there would be times where you would find yourselves a little offended but overall senior junior relationship is quite healthy. Students learn more from the seniors than from the teachers.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty in bits is also well qualified(apart from few). Also the bits administration rotates the faculty among the three campuses in india so every bitsian has the access to each faculty member.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
