Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Psychology is a social as well as a biological science. Sometimes I wish I had gotten the help when I terribly needed it. I want to be there for teenagers or children or even adults and help them. And in the end, most of us, the Psychology students, have somewhat taken this subject to get to know ourselves better while we try pick up the shattered pieces from someone else's life.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internships that are provided here are generally very great. Companies like Nothing, ITC, Pantaloons, and few hospitals as well provide really great internships. This helps us gather experience and ensure us a lot more future opportunities and provide us with a lot of exposures as well

Placement Experience

2.5

From 3rd semester onwards, students are eligible to apply for internships and from 3rd year, placements are usually provided. Few really great and well known companies provide internships and placements are given there, like Lenskart, Wipro, Tata Consultancy, Apollo Hospital, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee could be considered to be a bit too much but compared to the facilities and the academia, it's highly understandable. NSHM provides great internships in many well known companies and hospitals like Apollo, Fortis, etc. There are quite a few scholarship opportunities as well here.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual fest of NSHM, Login, is held hugely. A lot of colleges participate in it. Other than that, we get to participate in a lot of inter college fests. This has helped me build up a lot of self confidence and somewhat get over my social anxiety. On the other hand, we get to meet new people from other colleges as well.

Admission

The admission process was a bit lengthy but the admission in charge here, Srijaya Maam, helped me very much. The eligibility criteria includes a 10+2 education. The application form can be found in the college's official website. Application fees is not that much as well and is quite reasonable. The exams are held almost on a monthly basis which, in my opinion, is a great way to stay in touch with what is being taught and have constant revisions.

Faculty

2.5

The faculty members are truly very nice and helpful. Someone are very polite but there are two sides to a coin. Some might get indulged in few students' lives more than they should. Otherwise, they're really great at teaching and extremely friendly.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
