Anna University Chennai, Chemical Engineering

Reviewed on Oct 10, 2015

Remarks

There are no bad highlight about my college from my point . It has offered me great knowledge and great job. Now I can stand my own without my parents help , all credits goes to Anna University Chennai. I love and miss my college so much.

Entrance Preview

Tamilnadu Engineering Admission 2011 with Cut off mark of 186 out of 200. Since Demand for chemical engineers in India is high ,I have chosen this course.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Anna university is a great place for Engineers and research scholars to grow their curriculum to a great heights. At anna university both the Faculty of engineering and Faculty of technology are good. They offer so much research based and also interactive laboratory session to help out each individual .

Internships Opportunities

Yes it has been a great experience during my internship . Me and my colleague did our internship at Asia's largest sea water desalination plant located at Minjur ,Chennai. It was a great experience with the desalination operation and discharge of water to Chennai city . we learned a lot during our internship.

Placement Experience

Since Anna university is a great place for education it offers so many placement both to the core industries and also IT industries. Campus placements starts during 7th Sem itself. For my department we had so many chemical industries such as Reliance petroleum ,ITC ,CUMI,Sanmar,MPL and IT industries such as IBM,Accenture,CTS,zoho, musigma,Infosys,Amazon,eBay,etc for our recruitment year .

College Events

There are so many college festivals for each and every department and overall campus festivals .These festivel levels Nationally, internationally with both cultural and technical way. We have Techofes, kalakriti, culdisap for each campus as cultural and Gurukshetra,Dhrishyaa,Chemfluence for technical side .

Fees and Financial Aid

Anna university is a government college so it offers so many scholarship for each caste and also CM award scholarship for good mark scored candidate at 12th std. During my college I have availed SC caste scholarship and also I have scored good mark at my 12th std so I received CM award Scholarship every year of my four year degree.

Campus Life

Campus life and environment is too good for education. Diversity of gender equals. Anna University Chennai have builtin RCC which is Ramanujan Computing Center for computing at 24*7 offers internet for good education and technology update of individual. Sports Board there it offers so many games such as Cricket, foodball,Rugby, hockey, volleyball, tennis, basketball, Running etc..

Hostel Facilities

Hotel fee is very low about 11k per year .but I don't know about mess food since I am a days scholar. From my friends from hostel they say food is good. They offer token for Non-veg eaters, you can use that but if don't want to use just return and get paid

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

I rate 9 out of 10 for Alumni Network. Anna university at guindy started more than 200years before. So we have so many aluma activities such as alumni scholarship , special coaching for technically weak students and many more .

Faculty

At anna university both the Faculty of engineering and Faculty of technology are good. They offer so much research based and also interactive laboratory session to help out each individual .

Overall Good Experience at EEC

Likes

good infrastructure, clean campus and well equipped classrooms and labs.
Faculty members are supportive and explain concepts clearly with practical examples.
Good placement opportunities, career guidance and opportunities to participate in activities.

Dislikes

The workload can be huge sometimes, especially during examinations and project submissions.
some subjects could include more practical and industry-oriented learning
More campus activities and student interactions opportunities would improve campus life.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

This is the best college overall

Likes

The curriculum provided is really nice and understandable.
It is relevant and is effective as well.
The boy girl ratio is on the other hand a little less as in 45:15.

Dislikes

The way some facilities behave with students is really bad especially in our branch.
Some facilities are too rude and they often don’t want to listen to students point of view

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Training and Career development at CIT

Likes

In my college , I experienced diversed equality and gained more knowledge by training staffs and assessments

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually i like computer jobs. So i selected the course. Its very different one. Mainly programming. My engineering cut off is 151.i have already booked a seat in Dr MGR university. But i waited for counseling too .Then before counseling I phone called colleges in Chennai, covai,Trichy I will tell my cut off and they will tell me the fees structure according to my cut off...nearly u have called every colleges in Chennai and Coimbatore sector... While I am calling for DHAANISH AHMED INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY I found that this college provides good education with affordable fees structure and provides good placement too so I came to visit my college.before that in MGR there is no hostel facility for bme students so i was told to stay in pg when I look at that ph photos I was too stunned i didn't even like that place....But when I came to my college I loved the environment and my hostel too so compared to other college I like this one. Then other colleges won't allow 1st yr students for internship and other college events but my college provides us on duty so we can freely participate so I love this the most. The way they appreciate is is something more special too. Freshers day they conducted which was so awesome. They give importance to both the curriculum and culturals...Read More

I received admission confirmation after document verification and counseling.
