Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum for the first two years are more general engineering-based subjects and the next two years the core subjects are introduced. There are also the choice of electives, optional electives and professional electives that can be chosen by the students according to their field of interest. Improvement in the curriculum can be made by introducing the core subjects earlier so that the students can gain an early perspective of the course. Each semester exams are conducted within the span of 4-5 months with three internal tests in between. The difficulty of the exams are moderate and a decent score can be achieved easily.

Internships Opportunities

4

The intern offers are plenty and they are all forwarded to the students to their college mail. Companies like WIPRO conduct workshops and assign projects for certification. The placements department of REC is keen in finding both jobs and internships for students.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester onwards. Several companies like ziffo, tcs, prochant etc. made into the drive and the offer ranged from 3.5lpa to 12lpa. The highest package offered are the super dream package that is 13-15lpa and the dream package 8-12lpa. The average package is 4-6lpa. Around 75-80 percent of students who opt for placement gets placed before graduation. Personally, I wanted to pursue postgraduate studies so i opted out of placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee for students until the batch of 25' was: Management quota- 1.8L per year (part of which 60,000 is bus fee) Counselling - 1.2L per year There was a slight increase in the fee structure for the upcoming batches. Apart from the annual fee, exam fees of an average 3000 is mandatory before the end semester exam. Scholarships are available for students who were admitted through counselling. Placement trainings are made mandatory for everyone who opt for placements. Apart from this several workshops are conducted and internships are offered.

Campus Life

4.5

Every year in the month of March, the college's most awaited cultural - RECHARGE takes place. Its a three days event with more than 20,000 students attending. Apart from this there are several symposium and club events that take place almost every month. The library card is mandatorily available to every student and they are encouraged towards using the library often. Sports and extracurricular are also highly appreciated throughout different sectors. The college has multiple clubs that encourage student involvement and enriches the student's college experience.

Admission

The eligibility of the course depends on the 12th score and the chosen group. For official admission the college has an office in Kilpauk, where entire guidance will be provided. Admission process can be improved by making it easier through online.

Faculty

3.5

There are enough faculty members in each department and the faculty-to-student ratio is in such a way that for each year there is never a repeat of staff for the subjects they handle. Different subjects are handled by different staffs. The method of teaching includes usage of power point presentations and practical examples for better understanding. Usage of modern methods like google classrooms and portals are implemented. Interaction with the staffs are common and they are easily approachable.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
