Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is well aligned to industry standards as the founder himself is one of the top industrialists in India. Unlike most other colleges, we get into the specialization right from the beginning. And all the courses that our university provides are specialisation courses and are not broad core subject courses. We have exams 4 times in a semester. Two continuous assessments, one mid-semester exam, and an end-semester exam.

Placement Experience

4

Most students here have an idea of pursuing a master's degree right after graduation. Almost all of our seniors have gone for paid/unpaid internships by the end of their third year, to companies like HCL, PayPal, MotorQ, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee - 3,00,000 The complete cost of my education per semester comes to around 5,00,000 including hostel and mess charges. There are three kinds of scholarships. Merit, merit cum means, sports. Merit is given to university toppers. Amount will be told during the time of giving scholarship. Merit cum means is given if you score good marks and the family's annual income is less than 3 LPA. Sports is given to national and state-level players.

Campus Life

4

We have events taking place throughout the year. Two of the major events that take place are - Invente (the technical event) and Instincts (the cultural event) which are made possible through the collaboration of SSN and SNUC. We are also sent to other colleges for different cultural and technical events. The university encourages overall development.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel rooms are well furnished and contain all required and necessary furniture, like, a cot, a table, a chair, a cupboard, and fans based on the number of people staying in the room. The mess is also fine with homely food that won't cause any harm. There's a feast held every month end. Mess bill ranges from 150-250 per day based on the menu we choose (Normal or Premium).

Admission

It starts with applying for the entrance exam, SNUCEE, for which the eligibility criteria is a minimum of 75% in the board exam. The application can be looked up at the official Universe website. There are no reservations or benefits, as such, and is purely merit-based. The exam will lie in the same level as JEE mains or a little less advanced. There's no cut-off as such, as they filter the applications based on several other factors too, like your extracurriculars. Once a student gets through the entrance, they are shortlisted for an interview for which they're required to come to the campus. Two-Three of the faculty members will conduct the interview. If the student is selected in the interview, they'll be sent an offer letter. The whole process might take a maximum of up to 1.5 months.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty student ratio is commendable when compared with most other colleges. It is around 1:7. The faculty is very well qualified and almost 2/3 rd of them hold a PHd. And because most of them are actively involved in research they provide students with a lot of opportunity in a subject of their own interest.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
