Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Medical field are moderate to high yielding in terms of income and are also noble professions. It is also a job of high responsibility as your decisions directly alter the lives of other people. This adds to the thrill of being a doctor which is a plus. Examinations are very distressing and tiresome taking days to finish. But it's all worth it, at the end of the day.

Internships Opportunities

4

There is mandatory Paid Internship in MBBS everywhere. This one year internship is the best time for the medical students to acquire practical knowledge and apply their theoretical knowledge on actual patients.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being a government medical college (GMC), the fees are at the lower side of the spectrum. One year tuition fees are ?50,000 and hostel fees are around ?3,500, which is very cheap. However, medical textbooks are very costly. Also, log books and manuals need to be bought which are an extra expense.

Campus Life

2.5

This is the major area of lacking for this college. There are no fests held, no special events held in the college. No sports events are held. Infrastructure and facilities are good, but overall college life is a bit on the boring side.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels were very good as they were new when they were alloted to us. Cleaning facilities are good in the hostels. The washrooms and corridors are daily cleaned thoroughly and are tidy. Given the low hostel charges, they are good enough.

Admission

Admission into the government medical colleges is through NEET examinati which is a national level examination. No other entrance examination is held or required. The document verification process lasted an entire day and was tedious. But could have taken even if it were not for the swiftness of the staff.

Faculty

4

All the professors are MD doctors themselves and well qualified. They are helpful enough if approached with respect. Giving and taking of respect is important in the medical field which is very necessary to follow.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main aspect that influenced me is the externals and clinicals that made by decision to take this course because more than theory is the postings and clinicals which are neccessary to become a good doctor and also helps you to gain confidence. This is not just a curriculum but is a priority academics that prepares a student to save ones life which is far more important than just learning or reading. And yes it prepares us very well through clinicals and postings in addition to theory lectures or exams. As per my view, improvements in posting durations is very important than theory durations due to the priority. And yes teaching methods may get improve if some more fresh cadavers may get introduced in college every year. Exam are held in two phases, 3 terminals and 1 final. 3 terminals are held whole year with 3 to 4 months gap and finals at the end of the semester which is the final exam. Terminals exams are easy and quick whereas finals are tough and time consuming.

Admission:

The admission is done purely on the basis of your NEET score. A cutoff is declared after the NEET results are out. A merit list is taken out. Upto 3 merit lists are taken out on regular intervals of 2-3 days during the admission and counseling process.
