Likes
- I like the atmosphere of the university. The people in there are very friendly. The professor's from our (English) department are very nice.
- Our campus also have lots of pets! We have dogs and cats who always comes to our classroom.
- I also like my classmates. Our class is filled with different tribes of people. We have Khasis, Jaintias, Garos, Assamese, Muslim, Bengali
Dislikes
- The thing that i dislike is the dirtiness of the restroom. People don't seem to maintain cleanliness.
- And i also dont like our student council's dean. He doesn't care about the students. He's a bit of a narcissistic.
- I also dislike the hypocrisy of that one librarian who would scold us for talking while he talks very loudly with hei friends himself.
Course Curriculum Overview
It's overall good. I like the subject and enjoys knowing more about the subject and history of it. Our teachers are very good in explaining things to us. They teach us things that we didn't know before and make sure that we know it very accurately.
Fees and Financial Aid
The admission fee is very low since it's a central university. For MA in English it's only 9050 per sem. I don't know if we have scholarship for students tho. And i haven't taken any job roles in the uni so i cant sau anything about that.
Campus Life
Campus life is fun so far. Our campus organises lots of events for different departments almost every month. We also have varsity week held every summer. During varsity week we get to play different types of sports both indoor and outdoor and we can also show our talents by participating in different cultural games. Its super fun.
Admission
Application form is available in the official website of Nehu for both tura and shillong campus. When they open the portal, one can fill up the application form online. Application fees was 350 when i applied but it increases every year. Application dates only lasts for two week after it's opened. We don't have to write any examinations after submitting the form. We get selected through our degree marks and cuet (cuet is mandatory.) After getting selected we would only need to meet up with the professor along with our documents and then its done.
Faculty
Our professors are so friendly to the students. They(not all of them) treat us like their own children. They care about our mental health and they would consider our opinion before taking any tests. If we don't want them to take a test on a particular day because of how hectic our week has been, they would change it to any day we want. They don't take extra classes as well.
