Remarks

Overall the college provide good facilities to a student to grow in all sections of life. However the faculty should be a little more helpful and supportive to the students for their growth.

Entrance Preview

IIT JEE Mains exam is required to be cleared to get admission in DTU. I scored 87 in JEE Mains. Admissions are taken on the basis of cut-offs declared by the college itself for different courses according to the categories. 85% seats are reserved for Delhi candidates with a further reservation for ST, SC, OBC, physically handicapped, kashmiri migrants, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The first year courses are all similar for all branches but later on the specialization starts in second year, there are ample of opportunities for research and DTU stands among the topmost colleges in Delhi for jobs. The course study is detailed and gives you all the advantages further in career.

Internships Opportunities

Yes it does provide internships, we've seen companies like Qualcomm, Toshiba, Tata Steel, Mazares, Tata Power DDL and Delloitte which provides internship in the third year. Some companies even provide the pre-placement offers(PPO) after the internships.

Placement Experience

5

This is the key feature here at DTU. The administration and faculty has made the Training & Placement (T&P)Department for the active placements lf students. Among 1300 students last year, almost 1200 got their jobs. The average package was 7 lakhs with most of the students getting placed. DTU ranks 1 in the placement section in the survey by outlook. Companies like Uber, Microsoft, Google, Royal Enfield, Maruti Suzuki, Goldman Sachs, etc visited the college last year. Most of the students who sit in the placements get their jobs provided that they should not have any backlogs with a decent gpa all around the semesters. Uber offered 1.25 crore to a student of DTU last year, whereas Google made an offer of 1.27 crore.

College Events

5

Engifest is the name given to the biggest fest of Northern India celebrated by DTU every year in February. It is a three day festival with various performances on music, dance, fashion, etc. The main attraction is the EDM night, Punjabi night and the Bollywood night. Last time it featured Amit Trivedi, Punjabi singer Guri and The Bass Jackers. There are other fests also like the literary fest Yuvaan, Troika, Blueprints, Innova, etc which offer a good platform to students to share the stage and showcase their different talents.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is kind of expensive as compared to some of the other government engineering colleges. The current academic fees for 4 years is 6.45 lakhs. However, you can apply for fee- concessions if you're financially weak. The college also offers scholarships. The fees fo each year is increased by a few percentage so that each student in the same year pays equal fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the fee concessions are provided if you're actually financially weak. The scholarships are also provided for some backward sections, minorities, girls, etc. The scholarships are provided according to merit also to the students.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio is quite an issue in the college. The CSE and IT branches have a fair amount of girls, otherwise in branches like Civil, mechanical, electrical, etc, there are almost 5-6 girls per 50-60 boys. This shows how worse the ratio is. Although the campus life is good with a huge 168 acres campus. There are workshops organised for different branches, there are different societies like dance society, music society Madhurima, theatre society Pratibimb, etc. Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college on any grounds, proper discipline is followed regarding this matter. There are ample of sports opportunities with a huge sports complex having a cricket ground, football ground, indoor sports centre, gym, basketball court, volleyball court, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are good, with two students sharing a common room. However, the hostel seats are limited so students need to opt for PGs with rent of around 9k per month with each student sharing a room. The hostel food is kind of good as compared to other colleges. Sometimes it is not that good, otherwise it is average. While the food offered in canteens is really good withstanding the prices are also not quite high. The hostel rooms are not that spacious but yes, they are quite good.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are quite helpful. Either in the societies or in general, they help out the freshers a lot in each and everything. We can easily reach out any senior for help anytime and they do their best to support us. The alumni of DTU include the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Pentium chip founder Vinod Dham, etc which add to the prestige and pride of the college.

Exam Structure

The exams are held twice every semester with overall 4 exams each year, two mid-sems and two end-sems. The overall gpa for each semester is calculated by adding the marks of mid-sem, end-sem, internal and practical (if any). The exams are conducted in SPS halls usually while the practical exams are conducted in labs only without any external teachers. The schedule often is tiring because the college timings are 8-6, although you do not need to stay whole day, it depends on your classes which often are 1-6 or 8-1. The evening timings often leave us tired.

Admission

The admission forms are done through online on the website of JAC Delhi where the admission starts from mid of June where you need to fill the form and then do the choice filling for various courses. You get almost 15 days to change the choice filling accordingly and then come to the counseling procedure that is done in the college itself according to the cut off and then further the students get upgraded in their branches according to their choice filling.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is highly qualified, but yes some of the teachers are not so good. I would say you would have to rely on self study and the notes you prepare. Some of the teachers are very helpful and teach us so well, while the rest of them are not so good, although they all are highly qualified and experienced. You need to put extra efforts for marks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
