Course Curriculum Overview

3

I like biotechnology personaly and the facilities available for biotechnology is huge in SASTRA particularly so I choosed. There are lot of practical experience in college, But in academic wise I would say low, too much focused on exams and other things. But you have opportunities for you can use them Improve ment in practical application and lab experiments needed We will be having a CIA after one month from the start of semester the two CIA s will be held at one month gap each

Internships Opportunities

3

Companies like biocon provide lab technician roles, And in Other fields most of them are software related and IT. We will do mini project and project in 7th and 8 th sem respectively. We may do the project and present them or do intern in other companies.

Placement Experience

4.5

From 7th semester students will be eligible for campus placements. Lot of companies visit sastra like Amazon, Cisco, Wipro, Infosys, TCS and etc for bio related companies biocon and Reddy's lab. The total companies vist will be more the 40 Offers made may vary form totally 500 to 1000 Highest pakage offered was 1.2 cr and average was 6t o 8 lacks Percentage of students getting placement is 40 percent I planning to start business.

Fees and Financial Aid

For first and 2nd semester it is 85000 and it increases annually at the rate of 5 percent. Admisson fee 6000 Sports and extra curricular fees 1000 Development fees 10000 For non residential Indian students the fee if 5000 dollar annually Sastra doesn't accept students based of caste quota or income quota. The college provided scholarship aren't much of use. If the your parent or guardian who is the one earning and paying fees died your tution fees will cancelled and you study for free.

Campus Life

3

DAKSH is anual technical festival will be held on March , KuruSASTRA is annual cultural festival held on april. Mostly the books related to every department and courses is present. The language of books is mostly English, tamil and Hindi is rare. Sports and extracurricular activities is not focused by management. Just annual sports meet and some compition. Lots of groups and clubs are present most of them are student runed. The have a good impact the improve studunts skills

Hostel Facilities

4

Fans, lights, mosquito nets to stop bugs from entering room, water heater, plug ponits , good bath room and toilets. Meal quality is good mostly but taste and eatablity is poor doesn't taste food mostly. Registration process is fully online and direct. You just have to choose what type of room you want and you will be provided hostel. Hostel is cheap like starts 1500 a month In first year I was in clg hostel then I rented a PG just outside college campus.

Admission

I got confirmed admission for Loyola college Chennai, but I had to choose between SASTRA and Loyola I chose sastra because it is a lot better and nearby for me. I didn't get rejection from any other colleges. Admission process is fully online, and your state board exams , CBSE exam marks and jee also be considered. For tamilnadu state board and CBSE 80% engineering cut off is needed for biotech andmat vary for other courses like 95% for CSE JEE more than 95 percentile is needed for CSE and more then 90 is enough for biotech

Faculty

4

For every 20 students one staff will be present Student staff ratio 1:20. Faculty are approachable they are friendly mostly except some. Arumugam he is friendly and you ask doughts about anything he will answer or he will the next day Saravanan he is the stereotypical faculty I don't like him personally For each semester 3 CIA will we conducted and best of two will be taken for you internals

Other Applied Colleges

Loyola College | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Advanced Zoology & Biotechnology)

Chennai is too far for me

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
