What Students Say

Likes

Research Environment and compulsory research publications
Cultural exposure, if you are from northern india
International Tieups and the collaboration with Abroad universities

Dislikes

Food is worst if you are from north india
Very much restrictions and senseless rules
Faculties are not good and they are dumb

Course Curriculum Overview

The course consists of really modern subjects and the things in demand in the university but the faculty is not capable to deliver the content clearly and at last the students need to study it from youtube.

Class Size: 66Course Fees: INR 250000 per year

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Internships are not provided by college they just inform the companies which are providing internships and how you can apply to them, only 15% people will get internship in that also, so while taking admission into amrita forget about the placements, college life, it is basically good for nothings, atleast private colleges provide a better college life that we can remember but this college just only eats out money. Never recommend anyone to join this college

Placement Experience

1.5

Placements are really bad than those shown on the website, during placement they consider 7 LPA job offering as a dream package and company, the main aim of them is to make maximum students placed regardless of the package they are getting. Majority of the companies coming to the college lies between 7 LPA to 12 LPA, which even a tier 3 college provides.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fee is 2.5 lacs and hostel fee is approximately 1 lacs. There are 4 slabs of scholarship, slab 4 means no scholarship and 1 means the highest scholarship which is based on the Cut off of various entrace examinations set by the university.

Campus Life

0.5

Campus life is something which is not present the day you enter into amrita, there are so many restrictions and rules that even a simple activity is done with so much guards guarding the boys and girls that they dont come together. More than the events then spend on how to keep boys and girls seperate.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I find the quality of rooms in the hostel better than other colleges but the Number of members in one room override that quality of room, they have 4 to 5 people in a tiny room and their food is really pathetic, I swear upon it if one takes admission in the university they will also be crying over this.

Hostel Fee: INR 105000 per year

Admission

I choosed this college because of their fancy packages shown on the college website and the rankings of the university in NIRF and other ranking frameworks but now I feel everything is useless, only the students studying their knows the truth

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of our college only cares about the marks and the attendance of the student no ither growth is considered, regarding the marking scheme the I am from artificial intelligence and there is no end sem exams for us and the evaluation is based on the projects, quizzes and Mid term.

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Comprehensive review of amrita Vishwa vidyapeetam - amritapuri campus:A blend of academic Excellence and campus life

When choosing a college several factors played a role in my decision to select Amma the Vishwa vidyapeethum campus from my cyber security program over other institutions applied to. Compared with other colleges I applied to 1. VIT Vellore 2. BITS Pilani 3. SRM institute of science and technology Amrita has an excellent repetition for its faculty in cyber security. The professors are experienced and have a strong academic background along with industry exposure which was highly appealing to me. Including well accepted cyber security lapse. These lamps focus on practical penetration testing ,network security ,and ethical hacking. Amrita amrutapuri is situated in a peaceful coastal area offering a conductive environment for studies the campus life is lively with several extra curricular and co curricular activities that I found very attractive. Wet Vellore and SRM also afford good campus life but were much larger in size and I felt amritas more intimate campus would be better for personalised learning....Read More
