Likes
- Teachers, upto a limit are good and supportive
- Overall the culture is limited in terms of fests and celebrations but the events are good
Dislikes
- Far from the city center , which makes connectivity hard
- Many students are from other states , but the locals there over charge them for everything
- It is in a Village based area , and many types of Drugs and Alcohol is easily available there . For instance, you could find 2 wine shops first before you get the first medical shop
Course Curriculum Overview
The course and the curriculum is not upto the mark . The teachers have good understanding of the subjects but are given very less contact hours , in which they can teach . The curriculum only teaches you subjects, which are asked in the interviews of normal companies . System Design , and other Subjects are not taughf here
Placement Experience
Students are placement ready from the 7 sem onwards . But The T&P cell is not very much active there . They are rude , and blame the students for not getting placed. Mostly they bring marketing companies for CSE students or Companies which are Girls only which impacts the placements of Boys . Overall the placement percentage is not good . Around 60-70% and in that too , majority of public joins the companies offering 2-2.5-3-3.5 lpa . Once all the 8 semesters are done . College stops sending them mails
Fees and Financial Aid
Course Fees was 1,55,000 per annum at the time I joined the university in 2020 . It was constant throughout my course but the hostel fees was inconsistent. First it was 72000 , then increased to 77000 per annum without any changes in terms of facilities. For the new batches it is increasing very much such as this year , the course fees is 2,35,000 per annum . Close about 1 lakh rupee increase just in the course fees in 4 years
Campus Life
The Annual fest is Celegance which is shown to be a big event , but in reality is just a dj show with some dance and singing performances, and then you have to wait for another year , to experience that . But the overall campus life is good if you have good freinds , else there is only drug and alcohol use all around
Hostel Facilities
Locally many rooms and Flats are available which is the best option you can opt for . If you want to have an AC room , you have to pay 1,40,000 and still share the toom with 3 other peoples. Mess Food is very inconsistent and often bugs are found in it . In a seldom they provide good food . Room offers only a bed , a shelf , a cupboard and bathroom is to be shared with the whole wing 6 washrooms for almost 60 people in which many of the comodes are damaged or unflushed
Admission
Here the entrance exam is named CGET which is mcq based test . Most of the other state or non local students get admission on the basis of rank of this exam , but most of the admissions are based on Direct admission , based on JEE score is a myth . Even you can buy seats through management quota . I applied for SOA and CGU in which I had to choose CGU only due to the fee affordability as compared to SOA
Faculty
There is no such thing as bad faculty there . All of them have good knowledge of their subjects and teach us well , in the Time allotted to them . There are two exams One is Mid Sem , of 20 marks . Other one is End Sem , of 100 marks which is scaled down to 50
