Remarks

This is like every other college, you can bunk easily, lots of things to do around (go gaming, library, etc). The student body is from all over the country, so there is diversity. Negatives are you can be graded for attendance and we have a tight schedule 8:15 - 3:30 every day except for Sat and Sundays, unlike other colleges leaving you off at 1 pm. Classes are hard to pass compared to your VTU counterparts in the city.

Entrance Preview

Entrance Exam, Merit List.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is updated frequently to match up to the technological advancements in recent times. The courses you can take are flexible and very descriptive. Very well thaught by the faculties for each subject. Libraries are a huge resource during your study here, you can stay here and do your work for as long as you want as its 24/7.

Internships Opportunities

There are paid and unpaid internships, you can take these up in the summer vacation (3 months). A lot of labs and fields you can choose from such as Microsoft innovation lab and Intel embedded systems lab, Bosch recently started a lab here. Yet to see the outcome. They provide a valuable and interesting intern and networking experience.

Placement Experience

4.5

Very good placements as is you'd expect of the second best college in Bangalore city. Central to the IT hub, any branch you choose, you can expect to be placed in IT. CSE and ECE get most of the placements, a good number of core companies visit like Mercedes, Toyota, etc fro mechanical. BHEL takes interns for EEE etc. The average CTC is 6.4 ish. A few Biotech companies come, but hire very fewer students.

College Events

4

There are lots of events that keep happening in the college that you can attend, keeping in mind your attendance. Most of the big events happen during even semesters such as Aatmatrisha, Praakalpa, etc. Lots of seminars etc always keep happening at the MRD that you can attend. Its fests are well known in the city and have a large turnout.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It depends on your route to the entrance. CET students pay government prescribed fees around 1Lpa to 1.5 LPA. Pessat students pay the universal 3.2 LPA. Management seat can go up to 8lpa (for CSE) and 5 LPA for EEE, Mech.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are 4/5 scholarships that you as a student can avail, they are all on the website of the college (pes.edu/scholarships). You can check the criteria and everything else with full details on the website. But the general idea is if you study well you get a 15% off on the fee via MRD scholarship, or some companies also have their schemes here which are very very selective, like Huawei.

Campus Life

3.5

Labs, as mentioned before, are very well kept and maintained. They play a major role in research on campus. The CORI is a very active research lab which students are admitted to based on their interest and skills. The labs provide a nice base for your application for MS. Collge has various active sports teams ranging from football to indoor games like chess. Almost 20 clubs operate on campus so you can join anyone that interests you, they have their own events that are nice and happen all year round.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel is decent, not very strict as a lot of others describe it, not very liberal either. Food is decent with three messes to choose from, rooms are of various types from sharing of 5 people to single. Common bathrooms and singular ones are allotted as per the availability. A first come first serve basis is observed.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is strong with over 18000 students and growing. All over the world. You can give a glance on LinkedIn to see how well they are doing in their respective jobs/careers. There is an internal website too, not much information about it right now, as they are yet to launch it completely. The college hosts alumni meet almost twice a year so you can network and meet new people, helpful for current students to get to know the industry better. They recently had a meet in the bay area, the USA which was attended by Pesu alumni in America.

Exam Structure

Papers are difficult compared to general VTU papers. Questions are not guessable. So you are expected to actually put in work to get a decent GPA. Two internals and one final external will conclude your semester. It's an absolute grading system so you can almost easily pass subjects.

Admission

You can write the PESSAT exam which puts your fees at 3.2 LPA, or you can get in through CET which fees can be around 1-1.5 LPA. Management quota is there, need to go down to college and inquire about it. 60% seats for Pessat and 40% for CET students. There are two campuses to choose from, both are autonomous now and have a flexible and well versed syllabus.

Faculty

4.5

Great faculty, most of them have completed PhDs or are currently undergoing it as mentioned before. Most of them do a lot of research, you can join them which will improve your chances of going abroad. Helpful and are actively updating themselves. They can write recommendation letters which carry weight, some of the well know leaders and researchers teach here. So you get the gist of it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
