Course Curriculum Overview

5

Our curriculum is very good. The teachers take their time to explain everything properly. This is done by very well educated professors who are very humble and helping. The syllabus was the most important thing because they taught us exactly what we needed and not something extra

Internships Opportunities

5

The internship where place where we went was an NGO where we worked with underprivileged children in the slum area of Kolkata and it was an amazing experience overall. The organisation was called CWF (Children Welfare Federation).

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for my course during my Bachelor's was 27500 per semester which makes it 55000 per year. The registration fees was 10K out of which I got 5K as refund after the completion of the course. There were a lot of scholarship opportunities for students. Even though I didn't opt for it some of my classmates did and a very close friend of mine did as well. She was given 100% scholarship. She didn't pay anything to the college while she was studying except for the bus fees. So scholarships are really good in our university. And the affordability of our course is very good considering its a private university.

Campus Life

5

My campus life was amazing. I have been part of few celebrations like the annual fest where I was the Creative head and the director of the Fashion Show. This itself was one of my biggest moment in college. The library is huge and with AC and various academic books. There are various groups like the Fashion Club , Dance club etc.

Admission

The reason why I chose this college over other colleges is because the campus is very big and they had evry facility I needed to get an amazing education through and through. The other universities I had applied to were St Joseph's and Christ University in Bangalore and the reason I didn't go there was because my mom didn't want me to go that far. The admission process is very simple all you need to to do is sit for an entrance test.

Faculty

5

The faculty is very good of each and every department. Especially my Psychology department they are very helpful. The only problem I ever had was with the admin department. But apart from them my department was really good. So were other departments because they used to conduct our GE paper

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
