Course Curriculum Overview

4

It is pretty good and covers a lot of important topics. I chose this course because it includes things like clinical nutrition, diet therapy, and food service management, which are key if you want to work in nutrition. The practicals and workshops help us understand how things work in real life, like how to give diet advice or manage food services. One thing that could be better is the teaching style. It would be nice if we had more interactive classes and case studies to make tough topics easier to understand. Also, having more internships or industry visits would give us better real-world experience. Adding more about new areas like sports nutrition would make the course even better. The exams happen quite often and are manageable, though sometimes they feel a bit close together. It would be helpful to have a little more time between exams to prepare well. Overall, the curriculum is good, but adding more recent research and practical cas

Internships Opportunities

3

At LPU, several internship opportunities are available for B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics students. While I haven't applied for any internships yet, the college has tie-ups with companies like VLCC, Nestlé, and Fortis Healthcare. These internships typically offer roles such as nutrition intern, diet counseling assistant, and research assistant. The stipends vary depending on the company, with some offering around ?5,000 to ?10,000 per month. Interns often work on projects like creating meal plans, assisting in dietary assessments, or conducting research on nutrition-related topics. The outcomes usually include practical exposure to clinical settings, working with patients, or contributing to food and nutrition studies. These internships give hands-on experience and are a great way to apply classroom knowledge to real-world tasks, enhancing skills before graduation. LPU supports students by guiding them to the right opportunities based on their interests and academic strengths.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements at LPU are quite good, especially for nutrition and dietetics students. We become eligible for campus placements in the 6th semester. Some of the companies that visit include VLCC, Apollo Hospitals, Nestlé, and Fortis Healthcare, offering roles in clinical nutrition, diet counseling, and food service management. The highest package for my course has gone up to around 6-7 LPA, while the average package is about 3-4 LPA, depending on the profile and the company. Most students who actively participate in placements secure jobs, with about 70-80% placement success. After getting my degree, I plan to either work as a dietitian or continue with higher studies to specialize in a specific field like sports nutrition or public health. I'm also considering starting my own nutrition counseling service if the opportunity arises.

Fees and Financial Aid

So when i applied , the fees was 80 thousand per semseter and i give a scholarship test in which i got 36 thousand off and all i have to pay is 44 thousand per semester and 8 thousand of examination fees in one year , so total in one year is 96 thousand rupees. Some of my batchmates have 40 thousand fees per semester and some have 48 thousand. So there is three category in scholarship, i got the 2nd one .

Campus Life

4.5

My experience with campus life at LPU has been great, especially when it comes to social activities and the facilities. The campus is vibrant, with festivals like One India and One World happening every year in March and April. We also have technical fests like 'Youth Vibe' where students showcase their talents. The library is well-stocked with a wide range of books and journals, making it easy to access study materials. Classrooms are equipped with smart boards and projectors, which enhance the learning experience. Sports and extracurricular activities are a big part of campus life, with facilities for basketball, football, cricket, and more. There are also student-run clubs for different interests, like the Nutrition Club and Fitness Club, where we can network, learn, and share ideas. These clubs really help in building social connections and developing skills beyond academics, making student life more fulfilling and fun.

Admission

I chose LPU over other colleges because it has a modern campus, great facilities, and a variety of courses. I did not applied to other colleges because LPU's eligibility was easier, and they also offered scholarships based on performance, which helped a lot. The admission process at LPU was simple. For the B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics course, you need at least 60% in 12th grade with PCB or home science. LPU accepts the LPUNEST exam, and you can also use scores from other state or national exams. The cutoffs aren't too high, so more students get a chance. I picked LPU because it offers both academics and extracurricular activities, plus good placement opportunities. Compared to other colleges, LPU gives more exposure through internships and workshops, which made me feel it was the best choice for me.

Faculty

3.5

We are only 27 students so faculty focus on every student and they are approachable like we can get into their cabins anytime . There was a faculty named jaspreet kaur , she was nice to us , teaches very well and give answers to our questions very well . There is the worst faculty named shipra saklani . Wr are trying to get rid of her . There are 3 CAs , 1 mid term and 1 end term and they are not that difficult honestly . Onlyy 4-5 students fail
