What Students Say

Likes

The overall campus atmosphere is superb. The hostel and social interaction also worth it .
The landscape where the college rests just increases its beauty
The senior teaching have great knowledge about what they ara studying

Dislikes

The bus facility near the college is very poor students have to travel 20 min to get a bus if they miss a bus from infront of the college
The university scheduling of each semester is very congested
College bus fees structure and timings are somewhat overated

Course Curriculum Overview

The features of curriculum that infuenced me is its a 4yr course . The course curriculum will jst give you an idea about real world applications . The teachings style should be based on the problem solving skills but lab faculties are mainly focused on finishing the curriculum. The exam should be at 2 and half months gap but we only get 4 moths to complete a sem

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 15000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internships are provided to students stipend is only given to them based on their ability to solve problems that the company is facing. A large number of final year project and mini projects are done in the college based on ehich students are selected for internship

Placement Experience

The placement of the college is good more than 100 companies visit college for placement opportunities. Most companies makes a cut off of 7 cgpa for placement. If i dont get placed walk in interview will be the last option. Or else do a cource at entri.com for further employment Opportunity

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is 10k but its increasing we pay an amount close to 15k per year for tuition fees, exam fees, and fees for registring in the exam. The students who entered through management have to pay a one time fees of 4 lakh for four years . Scholarships are available based on your caste and the overall income of the family . Girl childeren scholarship are also available based on their family income

Campus Life

Campus life is excellent here also social aspects comes to a greater extent with a number of private hostels nearby . There are also verious clubs like ieee, iei, nss the organize various activities for the improvement of the students

Admission

As a resident of palakkad i prefer this college due to short distance of travel from my home . The oather colleges didnt reject me but i prioritize this college over the other . Admission process was easy we only need to submit the allotment details and caste related documents , 10th and 12th marksheet

Faculty

The faculty and student relationship is very good. The faculties are good at solving the problems of the students. There is no best and poor faculty each faculty has their own style of teaching. Talking about xam in a sem there are 2 internal exam whose score is very relevant in writing the university exams. Failing in the internal exams is usual but students will compensate by writing University exams

Is engineering here worth it?

Likes

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

I had applied for top colleges in Kerala for Engineering studies. I got admitted to NSSCE. I'm so glad that I'm a student of NSSCE. Admission to NSS College of Engineering. Mainly through KEAM Entrance examination conducted by the government of Kerala: General Quota, Reservation Quota are through KEAM Entrance examination of that year. You should have good marks in PCM subjects in the 12th standard. You should perform well in the KEAM Entrance examination of that year. Try solving Objective questions as many as possible. You definitely have to work hard to get admission to premium colleges like NSSCE. Management Quota admission: Should have good marks in 12th standard. Should quality KEAM Entrance examination of that year. Should have a good academic performance history. Admission to NSSCE is highly competitive. Since NSSCE is one of the colleges with a very high placement rate. Big MNC's like TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, CTC, ALSTOM, EY etc are always major players in the NSSCE placement drive....Read More

JAHFAR SADIQUE's Review On NSS College of Engineering - [NSSCE], Palakkad

I had studied my higher secondary course in a subject combination of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology(science). Along with the higher secondary course I went for entrance coaching in a coaching centre. I was more interested in mathematics than biology so I focussed on engineering entrance exams. After entrance admission to engineering colleges are based on allotments set by our priority and merit. I opted NSS college of engineering since it is good academics and facilities among the engineering colleges in Kerala and also it is the closer my native district. The college has a nice ambience, qualified faculties, better facilities and very active in academics and co-curricular activities. Also, I opted for the mechanical engineering course since I am an enthusiast in automobile engines and working. Also, our college provides better laboratory facilities in all departments with experienced lab assistants....Read More
