Course Curriculum Overview

5

Dr. Harisingh Gour Sagar University offers a remarkable course curriculum for the students of Pharmaceutical Sciences Department that is comprehensive in nature and highly relevant too as per the current pharmaceutical practices and research. The course content is very relevant today with pharmaceutics and chemistry being basic aspects and drug delivery system being the new dimensions, all geared towards the present time. The course is practical-oriented as students are required to undertake laboratory work and research projects promoting critical thinking and skills needed in the field. These are further made possible by the integration of multidisciplinary subjects that comprehensively prepare the students to the current trends in the pharmaceutical sciences. Last but not the least, it lays a strong foundation for graduates intending to work in the fields of teaching, research and the pharmaceutical industry.

Internships Opportunities

5

While pursuing the course in 7th semester you have to go for intership as it's included in course curriculum. You can approach to companies by yourself or by the department. Teachers help you throughout the process. It's a great initiative to bring closer industry - academia that makes a student well prepared for upcoming placement opportunities after the course gets completed. The intership attended by Student were mostly from nearby areas such as bhopal, Indore etc. giving nearer insights of tablet, capsule manufacturing as well as information about aseptic areas(injection manufacturing) and the working of regulatory bodies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Hey, so my semester fees was around 15 thousand (General category). For OBC (Creamy layer- 15 thousand). For OBC (non creamy layer), SC, ST it was around Rs. 50 and Rs. 25 per semester respectively. My hostel fees was 2400 per year while Rs. 2200/ month mess fees. Scholarship such as national scholarship portal, category wise scholarship was also available. Plus state wise scholarship was available.

Campus Life

4

The campus life was nice at the university. Their had being sports meet, annual functions of department. Celebrations like teachers day, pharmacy day , world tobacco day with different types of activities like speech, poster making , quizzes was in the curriculum. World environment day with plantation was another drive taken out. Every year workshops was organised with speakers coming from well renowned universities giving us opportunities for paper and oral presentations. It brought us more closer to research perspectives. Talking about University it provided us with big library culture having accessibility of lakhs of books plus journal access. Things like quillbot, biorender was scientific tools were freely available to students for research work. At University level diffrent clubs plus sports competition were held giving us immense opportunities to represent ourselves.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel facility is best with charges 200/ month. For Ug two student in a room while for Pg 400/ month with single occupancy. Nice atmosphere, spacious room in middle of greenly enviornment. The best part of University was the location of hostel. It was on a beautiful top with immense beautiful surroundings. The lush green trees all over added to its beauty. The food was served four times a day which was of satisfactory quality. The registration was done right after the admission procedure which was available on university's website. For renting civil lines and Gopalganj were in thetwo locations in in sagar.

Admission

I had applied for other colleges like dipsar, davv, bhu etc. I had got admission in dipsar as well as davv but left it due to to the greater history when it came to pursuing pharmacy as career option from sagar university. Since sagar university has rich history in this field fromhaving sir M.L. Shroff to Prof N. K Jain , I was driven to take admission from this university. Earlier the admission procedure was they conducted their own examand then merit list was prepared. But now it's from CUET. You have to select the course and college while filling the form and then later based on your CUET score you will be given admissions through councelling.

Faculty

The university feeds students with holistic knowledge as well as practical approaches. Since Dr. Harisingh Gour University is well know for its Pharmacy since ages it has dedicated professor with immense knowledge and greater experience in research work. The acknowledge the queries of students so humbly that it becomes easy in approaching them. The syllabus is also designed very well keeping the practicals in priority which prepares us to face the industrial areas. Teachers like Prof. Sanjay K. Jain, Prof. Umesh Patil, Prof. Vandana Soni, Prof. Sunil K Kashaw, Prof. Ashmita Gajbhiye have deep expertise in their fields and impart the same to students focusing on the well being of students making their critical thinking much more advanced. Talking about exams , their are two Mids of 20 marks each, Mid 1 is written and Mid 2 is giving powerpoint presentation. Then end semester is of 60 marks. The Mid 2 enhances our presentation making as well as public speaking skills much stronger thereby making more confident and reducing stage fear.
