Remarks

Positive remark is its a university which has all chances of becoming IIST in the near future and now as a new airport has been built and it has started operations so now there will be more companies visiting the college for placements.And the college is built near the hirakud dam. Its located in a wonderful location all full of greenery and mountains u will always love to visit. Negative thing is u have to travel to BHUBANESWAR which is 28kms far for extra courses if you choose to do any as this place doesnot have better institutes for it. And the market is not so big .

Course Curriculum Overview

As this is a university.It has its own cirriculum but Its nearly similar to all others B-Tech colleges.There will be as usual 8 sems and 8 midsems. Midsems are of 20 marks and sem 70. And 10 marks for assignments.

Placement Experience

Placement is average here . As the college is little far from the airport so some companies doesnt visit this place still you can go for off campuses and this college is a prestigious college so its easy to get a placement. Do not have any idea for it.

College Events

This is a engineering college so half of your year will go on celebrating starting from sports to technical fests which is the grandest fest of the state along with makers fest. And the cultural fest is much more grand .

Fee Structure And Facilities

For general student its around 35000 per year and for self sustained course its 70000. For hostel you have to pay 28000 per year . And along with all these one have to pay 5000 one time fee for university registration.

Fees and Financial Aid

Plenty of scholarships are available but u have to put a eye on it because nobody will infor. You about it so its on your own. Some posters would be available in the walls of campus buildings. Govt funded scholarships will be informed by the college in the college website.

Campus Life

Extracurricular activities is one of the most best thing of this college .It has nearly 20-25 clubs starting from painting photography to dance automobiles enterprenurship idea and innovation yoga . It also has a club which designs student made rockets and has launched a rocket for which the college has recieved many awards and appreciation . One of it has come from NASA too you can see it in the news by searching VSLV OF VSSUT COLLEGE,BURLA in google. It has gym and sports club for cricket football and many others. Lab are also good here.Its the 2nd oldest college of eastern india after iit kgp. And soon its going to be declared as IIST.

Hostel Facilities

Old hostels are not that good but the new ones are gorgeous. Its like new appartments and they are in many numbers too some are yet to be completed can take more 1 year from now(2019 april).Some of the hostels also have night canteens . All have canteens in it.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they are all good and helpfull too. You will always recieve help whenever you need it from the seniors . But you have to respect them as they are your seniors or else you may face some problems.You will have contact with alumni in some events in which they will also be part of .but its rare only once or twice in a year.

They are all friendly and well behaved .As its a government run college so for any of your work you have to run a bit for it. Some teachers are a little bit strict than usual specially in case of attendance.

A journey that will help you learn a lot.

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

The campus life after college hours is quite engaging and helps us develop as a person.
Extra curricular activities are into multiple options.
Faculties are good in nature,they teach us like a friend.

Dislikes

Bad condition of the washrooms ,not cleaned.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum includes the real projects which help learn more practically. It would had been better to have more site and industrial visits and export sessions to learn better.The exams are not so difficulty to score.

Likes

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

It has state-of-the-art architecture with a blend of culture
Has highly talented professors along with efficient pedagogy
AI enabled classrooms, great cohort and learning environment

Dislikes

The food provided at the mess can be improved to some extent

Course Curriculum Overview:

The pedagogy is excellent since majorly learning is through real-world case studies, reserach papers, peer discussions and interactive class activities. The professors provide materials and pre-reads at the starting of the term and the content is highly focussed on practical learning. The AI sessions are enriching. The difficulty level of exams vary among the instructors but usually is aligned with topics already taught.

there are smart class rooms and good faculty for my course and various extracurricular activities are available for students
you can compete many state and national level competitions such as essay writings, creative writings, debate, poster making, etc.
the management of the university is really commendable. various departments and cells have been established to help students in their academic life such as; placement cells, incubation and innovation centers for young entrepreneurs

Dislikes

students who are engaged in political activities often exercise their dominance over other students
sanitation could be better with the mutual efforts of both the students and the college management
though is a placement cell present, i haven't seen many numbers of students getting employed through the university placement cell

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.

I have applied to only Outr(formerly Cet Bhubaneswar). I have applied on the technical branches, but got none of them as my rank was around 152000. As Cet is not very good for its core branches, so I preferred Vssut over it. To get technical branches in cet bhubaneswar your rank should be under 50000 in Jee mains. The admission process is through the OJEE COUNSELLING. It is the counselling only for the students of odisha and anyone out of Odisha appearing the OJEE examination. VSSUT as seen by 2nd years

I applied for outr Bhubaneswar and vssut burla. I was getting electrical branches in both the colleges. But in outr there are not enough hostels for student neither the campus is that much attracting. O the other hand vssut have total 11 hostel and can accommodate every student studying and the campus is also somewhat good. But for csit branches there are not enough facilities in vssut To get admission here you have to get a rank in jee main exam and have to go through ojee counselling. To get to cse branch your all India rank must be within 1lakhs and for electrical branch its about 1.5lakhs and for lower branches production rank does not matter that must there are seats pending vacant you can get them via spot counselling...Read More
