Course Curriculum Overview
The practical aspect of our course made me take it. The university has several labs where we pratice our skills. The teaching method needs a little bit of improvement because they are very harsh and put a lot of burden on the students. The frequency of our exams is fine and they are easy to pass
Internships Opportunities
There are not a lot of internships provided by the university. So we have to basically find them on our own. But several companies like TCS, Infosys, etc do visit our university for internships. Some of us do internship in PDD. It is a government electrical company
Placement Experience
The students become eligible in the 7th semester for the placement. But there are not many placements provided by the university so we have to search for jobs on our own. I think only 10% of students get placed and they get around 5lpa package.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearwise fees for my course is 74000 INR. It consists of tution fees and other mandatory fees. I also available the transport facility provided by the university, so it costs me additional 29000 INR. I think it is a very genuine price and it has been like this for several past years. I don't think it is increasing in near time.
Campus Life
I think the social life in the university is fun. There are a lot of places to eat and hangout. Also, there is a huge library full of books for the nerds. The classrooms are simple but some of them have projectors and smart boards.
Admission
I did not opt for any other college because I was restricted to admission in jammu and kashmir only and there are not many colleges there but IUST stands out because of its facilities. The admission process is fairly easy. i attempted the JEE exam and easily got addmission.
Faculty
There are adequate amount of teaches in the department and I find them hardworking. But I don't like liyaqat sir of our department because he is very harsh. There are 2 exams held in a semester, they're both very easy to pass. Med sems are of objective type and end sems is theoretical
Night Life
The university doesn't have a nightlife because it is not located in the city. It is located in a villege far from srinagar. But in day, you can have fun at a lot of hangout places like purple. It is not permitted to roam around the college at night.
