Course Curriculum Overview

the curriculum includes good clinical approach to medical students since second year to 4th year , stipend is also given in 5th year. the exams are quite frequent and of medium difficulty. good labs and postmortem room

internships are compulsory and included in the 5 year course. you will get a stipend of 8-10,000 per month for a year . after that neet pg exam has to be given to be eligibile for post graduation . reasearch helps

Fees and Financial Aid

total fees for 5 years is 80,00,000 . hostel fees is 70,000 per year. mess fees is 35,000 per year. the tution fees increases every year , the 1st year is 18,00,000 2nd year is 17,00,000 third year is 16,00,000 and 4th year is 19,00,000.

Campus Life

many festivals take place luke anand mela padmanjali , cultural might , garba night. all books are available in the library. all sports are available with a huge ground in the campus, many clubs are present

there are two fans two tables 2 beds in the riom, meal in mess is bad quality, even if u get a rental nearby u will still have to pay the hostel fees which is of 35,000 (mess) and 70,000 (hostel). located in loni

the orther colleges needed a higher rank and they were further away from ny home. this was the closet at a 5 hour distance and had it according to the rank i got in neet examination. the fees is high as it is deemed college

Faculty

faculty are doctors who work in the hospital as well as teach us, good clinical exposure. each year 3 sets of exams are there , 2 internals and one university exam. DS Kulkarni sir of medicine is very nice

Night Life

hostels in timings for girls are 9pm and boys yhere is no in timing. small food joints like cafe 24 are around the campus , mcd and dominos are 30mins away , theater is also there near the campus and acsess by auto

The campus is decent. There is turf for playing cricket football and all. Hostels rooms are good, well some of them are. Cleaning is done every alternate day by the cleaning staff that’s a good part
The college building is not the best but not the worst. Teaching is like every other college of you pay attention you can study in class else you are on your own. There is a library and 2 reading halls, one for discussion and one for individual read
Best thing about college would be the departments are really chill about the attendance. If you are low on it they’ll let you compensate. But do try to attend whenever you can😁

Dislikes

Mess is really bad. There are limited options available apart from the hostel food and those options aren’t really good either
Department’s labs need improvement there is shortage of microscopes and the ones that are already there doesn’t work especially in the microbiology department

Academic is best regarding super faculties
Clubs are best and has a registered mountaineering academy.

Attendance criteria is very strict so that's little hectic
Permission of dean is required for any small event
Canteen is not that good regarding compliance of students

Small class size allows for individual attention and equal opportunity
Decent location, close to mumbai and thane
Good patient load, good exposure to cases

Dislikes

High patient load and small batch size makes internship very tiring and hectic compared to other colleges
Current administration is not supportive of extra curricular and co curricular activities like exchange programs and fests
Poor research culture, very few opportunities to do good research

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is standard for all MBBS courses. There are theory lectures and practical classes. Hospital exposure begins in the second year onwards. Current revisions in the course like introduction of logbook etc are unnecessary and time consuming.

Faculty expertise and Teaching quality most teachers are from other Institute of National Importance (INIs)
Campus life and social interaction. The boys:girls ratio in my batch is 4:1
Events and Fest- The grand fest HALLUCIA and events of every culture

Dislikes

Gender ratio is 4:1 which is very less for an INI
Academic pressure is too much. Students are overburdened with the academics here.
Music room is very small and instruments are less. Fundraising here is needed at this hour.

The curiculum well verses students to deal with every kind of cases and complaints patient comes with. Exams are held almost every 3-4 months which makes the student prepare for real life scenarios by giving clinical vignettes.

Life at Pravara Rural Medical College

I did apply for other deemed colleges. But i considered a few points which helped me choose this college. 1.This is an old college, established in 1984, and many of the alumni are now highly accomplished doctors who are top of their respective fields. 2.Fees was the lowest among the deemed colleges in Maharashtra. 3.This college is known for its quality education, great extracurricular activities and most importantly excellent patient flow with adequate learning opportunities for all Admission is through NEET-UG examination and counselling is done ALL INDIA with many students from outside of Maharashtra choosing this college.
