Course Curriculum Overview
My course is civil engineering.I choosed this course as I will be able to explore more as I can't either go to the private firm or govt job or can have my own construction company.The curriculum is very old and is not revised according to the current needs.The semester is hardly for around 4 months with mid semester exams and end semester exams alon h with vivad and practicals.The difficulty level is mediocre and only some of the subjects are difficult to pass.
Placement Experience
Placements in our college is one of the best in India with 15.45 average of all the branches and 25 in cse and software.The highest domestic package was of around 85.30 lakhs.2000 offers were made and 1900 students were placed. 55% of the students were placed. I am thinking of doing masters abroad after my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for fiscal year 2023-2024 is 2,29,000 which includes tuition fees-147300 ,student welfare fees is 20,000, facilities and services charges is 36000 ,EWS fund -10,000 ,examination fee-15000. The total fees for fiscal year 2024-2025 i.e second year is 2,36,000 which has a tuition fees of 1,55,000 and other components have same fees. Fees for 3 year is 2,47,700 and 4 year is 2,66,000.This fee structure is for general category and structure is same for all categories in our college. College provides scholarship to economically weaker students which covers their hostel and tuition fees.College also allows private scholarships in our college like dell scholarship.
Campus Life
Our college is known for its feat and college life.ENGIFEST in the month of feb is the biggest feat with footfall of around 1 lakh in one day.There are other test also like YUVAAN ,Diwali mela and hackathons. Library also has a vast no of books.It has a sports complex which has facilities for games like football volley ,indoor badminton court, track , tennis court and basketball court. Our college also has various societies like Madhurima -the music society ,Vibe and DTU Bhangra for dance.
Admission
I choose this college because it is one of the most prestigious college in India and was established din 1941. It has very good placement records and college life is also happening. I also got admission in other college like Thapar but I choose this due to better placement and its location ie Delhi .
Faculty
There are 75 students in every class.The senior faculty sends phd students to take classes and take vivas most of the times.Professors are not easily approachable.I really liked my physics prof in 1 sem .His name was Sameer Jain and he had very deep knowledge about his subject and was very funny. I didn't liked my Basic electrical teacher RL Meena as he only took 2 classes in whole semester. There are mid sems of 20 marks and end sem of 40 marks and 40 marks are of vivas and practicals
Night Life
Our college has a gym and cafeterias and Nescafé ,bistro ,domino's ,mother dairy booth safal for fresh veggies inside oure college. Library timing is 9am to 10 pm. Hostel timings for girls is 11 pm but for the boys it is very lenient. Famous hangout places are oat, wind point . Locality is not safe but it is safe to roam inside the campus
