Course Curriculum Overview

4

There was not at all any reason for choosing this college, was not alloted any college in JEE MAINS and JEE ADVANCED, that's why I'm here now.! The curriculum does not help to gain practical knowledge, however the projects to be made encourages to gain experience and information about the market trends. The syllabus in the college is not at all relevant as per the market needs.! The areas of improvement can be done by hiring not highly-qualified but highly-experienced teachers. The first year faculty is not so advanced. Every month, there's an internal assessment test and project or assignment at the same time after the exams. And one of the worst thing is, every test or projects counts to the final one as per the schema of syllabus. The marks get reduced to half and quarter to the final Semester End Exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

Under Internships, the companies visiting the college are Accenture and Cognizant being the top recruiters while some vacancies are also provided by JP Morgan, Capgemni and others decent recruiters which hires students in their 3rd year. while, some of them are non paid internships. First of all, they require a minimum CGPA criteria which is required for elimination of most of the sudents.

Placement Experience

4

From 3rd year that is from 5th semester, students become eligible for internships. And from the 4th year, that is from 7th semester students become eligible for proper placements. There are a high chances of students getting a pre-placement offer after their internships period only. Companies which visit the most are Cognizant, Wipro, Accenture. While there are companies like JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and Capgemini which provide an overall decent placement of around 12-15-20 lLpa CTC only. Previous year only, Microsoft hired a student with 56lpa package as the highest package in the year... Around 85% students get placed every year. My plan is not yet clear, whether jon or entrepreneurship but as of now what I've decided is getting a decent placement from the college so as to have a good luck start.

Fees and Financial Aid

During admission they charge a lot for COMED-K students. 2,81,500/yr is the tuition fees along with others VTU Registration fees, stationaries, Exam fees etc. which sums up to 3,20,000 per year. Management quota fees for CS related branches is way higher around 10 lakhs per year along with the donation amount. KCET quota is the best with 83,000 per year being the Tuition fees. My friend is in EIE branch(Instrumentation Engineering) from Management quota and he pays the same 3,25,000 per year (including all charges). That's what I said, Management fees for CS related branches is higher and it is the same for lower branches like EIE, ETE, EEE, Civil, Mech. etc... Scholarships are not full-fledgedly provided by the college. Students must seek for them by their own. College give scholarship on merit basis at the end of the course during degree as a token of appreciation. That's it.!

Campus Life

5

There are many such activities being done in our college. The annual fest name is Vibration, and to be honest it is going to happen in our college just tomorrow. Feeling very excited for that, there are a lot of events being organised. Library is accessible to eacha nd every student, and it has various books covering every subject, course and variation with latest editions. The classes have double seating desk benches, with projector slide smart classes and white boards.. Sports and other activities are acknowledges and encouraged in our college. There is an event atleast every week in our college. Because there are a lot of clubs there in our college, there are evaryos events being organised in our college. Ther are techclubs non-Tech clubs, dance clubs , singing clubs, social service clubs and many more.... Yes, students do run social groups and clubs on their own providing resources to others.

Hostel Facilities

4

The 3 types of hostels mentioned earlier, in the indisn hostel both men and women, it is 4-sharing and has a small almirah, a study table and a plastuc chair for each student. Also for both men and women, there is a common bathroom with maximum accomodation of 15 persons at a time in toilet and 8 for bathing. then comes the NRI hostel, which is 2-sharing with attached washroom, provided with a large almirah with many sections and combined study table for both persons and 2 soft comfortable chairs, 2 beds with foam mattress for the students. The mess food is noy at all good, earier it used to be nice but now it is not at all hygienic. Every month there's a case when a worm is detected in some student's plate. Registration is very simple jjust give the mney, take receipt, choose the floor and room and you are alloted but there's a lot of chaos during admission time. I personally live i the NRI hostel and it is very comfortable here but it charges a lot. I would have saved around 60-70 thousand rupees there. In nearby locations, there are many rented rooms and PGs which charges from 10k to 15k or 20k according to the facilities provided.

Admission

Jee mains and Jee advanced, not alloted any college after clearing the exam too. Got a confirmed admission in VIT-VELLORE (Mech and Civil), VIT-BHOPAL(AI-ML) and DY. PATIL AKURDI campus (AI-ML). But I didn't make it there because the places were not good. And, the crowd was too much means very very high in VIT (all campuses)... The placement was also very unjust, it was not sure either they were faking it or what package the most students are getting hired with.! The admission process of the college was not at all simple :- it was way difficult, there were 3 rounds and the cutoff ranks were dropping too much. So it is advised to wait till last, then only go for locking up the college. There are 3 modes: COMEDK/KCET/MANAGEMENT for admission in the college with proper reservation. The most preferred for North students(not belonging to Karnataka) is Comed-k and KCET for Karnataka students while when none of the above falls to your category then, you may apply via MGM quota but it will charge you the most????

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is about 1 on 60. Every group of 30 students also get a Proctor for all college related queries and helps. Every proctor is very interactive and reliable. Rekha Jayaram is my proctor and she is very responsive. She even helped in managing my attendance for my First internals. Each month there is an internal exam, and each exams add some importance or grades in the final semester exam. As of now, the seniors say that each exam is important for achieving final good grades..!!! The first year syllabus is not at all relevant for the branch, but from 2nd year, the syllabus is very much related to the course.

Night Life

5

Yes, all the above mentioned facilities are available inside college campus. There is a gym with extra fees, library with only security charge, and there's a bank just outside the college campus, of BANK OF BARODA branch. The night curfew time in college is 9:30 which is a bit early I'd say... There is a rock garden, amphitheatre and a lot of green open areas where usually couples hang out during night..! And we singles just have fun with our groups. There is rock garden, an amphitheatre, lot of small gardens, canteen, fountain, a temple and obviously a stadium which remain empty during night time where we go and play among us and have fun during night time also....

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the NIAT curriculum around four out of five. In my opinion, it is good that the curriculum is not only based on theoretical studies. The inclusion of coding, projects, assignments, and practical knowledge is quite engaging for the students, as they can apply the acquired information in practice. Additionally, I find the curriculum up to date compared to the standard Btech syllabus, which mainly focuses on theoretical background. However the curriculum could have fewer assignments, as some of them are rather time consuming and require additional study to achieve a better understanding of a particular subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally, I was interested in ECE course since I liked working around chips and was intrigued by how they worked, which is what led me to choosing this course. The curriculum is not the best for real-world applications since the syllabus is pretty outdated. The teaching does involve smart boards and can be visual as well, but it can be utilized better by the professors. A semester lasts for around 5 months, with the last month only involving SEE (Semester End Examinations) and the first four months consisting of 2 CIE tests in the 2nd and 4th months. It also involves practical examinations.

The on-campus usually starts in 6th Semester. A company called MathCo was the first company it came for the role of analyst. Around 5-7 people got selected. The average package would be usually around 4-4.5 LPA, but highest package was 6.25 from PlanetSpark for role of Sales. The percentage is nearly to 10-12%. After degree, get a job and work for atleast 2 years for learning current trends is my basic thought as of now.
