Course Curriculum Overview

4

If I tell honestly, then the main reason of me selecting this branch was that its curriculum was on the easier side as compared to other branches. Software engineering being a tech branch also manages to keep par with the tech and emerging AI trend. Teaching style should be changed a little bit by updating the curriculum and executing different teaching methodologies. The frequency and timings of exams are perfect and the there's no need to change the way they are.

Internships Opportunities

5

The top intership companies are Qualcomm, Mazares, Airtel, etc. that provide 2 and 5 months interships providing various roles with stipend around CTC of 45,000 rupees. They provide different projects like web-development projects, open-source contributions and various roles in startups helping students learn and grow as well as earn some money at the same time.

Placement Experience

4

The placements of my college are great as per the data on official website. Many top companies visit our campus for on-campus placements like google, apple, goldmann sachs, flipkart, etc. A total of 2053 offers were made and 1900 students got placed and more than 350 companies visited. The highest package was around 82 LPA and average was around 15 lakhs. Around 85% students got placed. I plan to get a job in product based company or study Mtech after doing Btech from this college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees was 1,55,000 rupees and the student welfare fees that includes co-curricular activities, seminars, workshops, institutional development, innovative projects, etc. was 20,000 rupees. They took 36,000 as facilities and service charges and 10,000 for EWS fund. Examination fees was 15,000 and 700 rupees for medical facilities. It keeps on increasing every year by 10k rupees.

Campus Life

4

The fests in DTU are on par with top colleges. They are top notch like Yuvaan(literary and film fest) held in october, Arena(sports fest) in November and the epic Engifest(cultural fest) taking place iN Februrary. There are almost all types of books in our library. Our classrooms are equipped with ACs and SmartBoards. The sports facilites are also great with multiple courts and grounds for each sport. Many societies and clubs are also there for personal and professional betterment of students in the field of tech, creativity, finance, etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are many facilities provided in my hostel like 24/7 electricity, dustbins, curtains, pure drinking water and one facility that was mentioned and not given is WiFi. We have to pay from our side for accessing internet as there is no good internet connectivity inside hostels. The mess food quality is pretty average as you expect from a government college. The registration process was easy but the prices of hostel is higher as compared to other colleges' hostels. The locality to rent a room or PG is not good as the area is not safe so that's why I opted for hostel.

Admission

I got AIML branch in RVCE, Banglore but I didn't chose that it was very far from my home and the fees was very high. The admission process of my exams was pretty easy actually, I just wrote my JEE exams and on basis of JEE Mains score I managed to get SE branch in the online counselling rounds. I just came once to the college before admission to get my documents verified and the process was quite smooth and it caused no trouble at all.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio is 1:12. The relationship is good among students and faculties and the professors are quite approachable and they generally tend to help whenever students are in need. The HOD of my department Dr. Ruchika Malhotra is a very helpful and kind lady, she always supports students whenever needed. I don't like my maths prof. as he doesn't teach good as well as tells us to study everything on our own and score good marks in the exam. There are mid term and end term exams in a semester along with practicals. Some subjects like electrical engineering are tough but others are quite easy. Generally 3-4 students fail from every branch. The course curriculum is moderately relevant.

Night Life

4

There are two gyms one for boys and other for girls. The hostel curfew timing for girls is 10 pm and for boys it is 11pm. There are many shops like coffee shops(nescafe and hpmc), dairy shops(mother dairy and amul), eateries(deltech and micmac). People generally hangout here. During exams there are no curfew timings for boys so we study and relax with our friends having a cup of tea during all-nighters. They just make memories that lasts forever. The campus is nice for doing hangouts. The campus' main gate closes at 10 pm and no one is allowed inside after that.

Other Applied Colleges

R V College of Engineering - [RVCE] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning)

It was very far from my hometown and the fees was on the higher side.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

I would not suggest On Campus placement for this college as the placement cell is not very good here. However one can score a great package if they develop skills in the field of chemical engineering.
