What Students Say

Likes

cusat provides more placement opportunities compared to other colleges in kerala
The infrastruture and lab facility is also good

Dislikes

The campus has hostel but its difficult to get
sometimes political issues are more so classes may get interrupted

Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus seems very much adaptable with new technology.they included new technologies in the syllabus,so it will help us to adaptable to new technologies very easily.also for the juniors they improved the curriculum which contains technologies like ai,blockchain

Class Size: 62Course Fees: INR 50000 per year

Placement Experience

From S7 onwards, students are eligible for placements. Many famous companies visit Cusat, including Cisco,IBM, Wipro,Accenture, and many more. Cisco offers the highest package, 21 LPA, and the average package is 4 LPA. More than 70 percent of students get placed in Cusat.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is two types of seats in cusat, one is state merit and another one is all India merit.so I got admitted in state merit the average amount I paid per semester is 24000.it's including tuition fees, registration fees and all other mandatory fees. For all India merit seat you have to pay average amount of 45000 per semester. Also there are many government scholarships you can avail.all nsp scholarships you can get while studying in cusat

Campus Life

The overall college experience is awesome, beacuse yu will get more exposure in this collge. Also there are many clubs like SEDS,TedX are there in cusat. Also we have yearly arts and sports fest is also there .so that you can enjoy a lot in college

Admission

I have got into some other colleges under KTU, but when I got admission from CSAT, I didn't have to think twice. The amount of exposure and opportunities CSAT provides is unmatchable with any other colleges in Kerala. Also the placement opportunities are also more in this college

Faculty

each class has their own mentors assigned to them.so if you face any issues you can contact them. Also only few teachers explain the concepts very well.so don't rely to much on teachers to gain knowledge. Also there are some teachers who keep grudge on small issues so be aware of them.don't get too much involved in politics because it may cause issues with some teachers

Night Life

there are gym, cafterias and library facilities are available for students, for boys there so specific hostel timings ,but for girls usually its around 11 hostel will close. Also you can get any study materials in the library its very useful.

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Good learning environment with a good campus life

I choose Cochin University Of science and technology for Mtech Instrumentation Technician beacuse of its good reputation, affordable fees, and experienced faculty, and better focus on core technical subjects. I also got admission to Delhi University, but i prefer CUSAT because it was more affordable and better suited for instrumentation and automation studies. Admission to CUSAT is mainly based on GATE score and eligibility in a relevant BTech degree. The admission procees include online application and a exam DAT , rank list based on DAT , documenr verification, and fee payment. Life of CUSATian

I have only applied to CUSAT, we i was not able to get admission there i would choose to work in a company. It was just a try from my side, but it actually worked out. For MTech, GATE qualifiers can direclty get the admission without any other exams. They can also avail monthly stipent of around Rs 10000. Other exam for admission is DAT exam which is conducted by the respective department of the course. I have taken the DAT exam under the Department of Statistics , where this MTech Data Science and Analytics is present. The eligibility includes BTech or MSc. Cutoff is majorly based on the number of students writing the exams and the number of seats. So cutoffs can vary. Students are selected based on the DAT ranklist. Spot admission is conducted for the remaining seats. There is also a least chance for students who didnt write the DAT Exam can also get the admission at the 2nd or 3rd spot admissions....Read More
