Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is highly relevant to the current industry practices. It pretty much covers all the aspects of the course. Practical sessions held by the institute allow us to enhance our 'on hand' skills. Different skills like welding, blacksmithing, Carpentry, Fitting etc. are taught.. The ship located at the heart of TMI is a place for internships and has all functiions of a modern day ship
Fees and Financial Aid
Course fees is 6 lakhs per semester including the hostel and other facilities. scholarships are provided for merit students ranging from 10k to 40k rupees per semester provided there are no arrears. There is also a financial aid for students who cannot afford complete course fee
Campus Life
There are 2 main events held during a year Freshers Party- for freshers usually held during September Horizon- A 3 day event held in the 2nd semester Sports activites and interhouse competitions take place year round bringing the competitive spirits... Various clubs like Institute Band, Pi club, Jigyasa function regularly Library is located in the academic block and classrooms are equipped with AC and projectors
Admission
The admission process of TMI is straight forward.. CLEAR the IMUCET exam CLEAR the TMISAT exam CLEAR the interview held by TMI faculty members Talking about why i chose this college is because it was the best option available even though i had other colleges shortlisted. Other colleges dodnt have facilities like workshops and were very unhygienic
Faculty
Faculties of this institue are very good and professional. Classes usually occur in a 1:35 ratio in Marine Engineering batches. There are 3 exams per semester of moderate difficulty. Out of the 3, 2 exams are internal exams worth 20% overall to the final grades. the end semester exam is an external exam conducted by IMU and worth 70% of the final grade. Passing percentage of these exams are 50%. Curriculum of this course is up to date
Interview Experience
there was an online test (TMISAT) and a psychometric test held after that Tests were of moderate difficulty and questions were asked on physics, maths and general aptitude After the TMISAT test the inerview was held where they asked basic level questions
