Course Curriculum Overview

The Course content structure was awesome, We had 8 semesters. First two semesters were common to all branch students. We had Chemistry and Physics Cycles. Every student has to go through these two cycles in consecutive semesters.

Placement Experience

Placements were almost more than 90 percent every year. Students used to have more than one Jobs before we are out of college. No Internship programs were present back then. Its one of the reputed colleges in south india.

College Events

We had freshers party i each branch. Our class representatives if each branch managed to arrange for a welcome party. We had EC Fest celebrated each and every year which consists of cultural and technical events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee was moderate then, we have paid 20000 rupeez per year. Apart from that we have to pay exam feez every semester. Exam fees was 1200 Rs which includes fees for 6 subjects. We had to pay 2 thousand rupees for Degree certificates.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have availed a scholarship under teachers scholarship program. We had Merit scholarships which was paid out to brilliant students every year from every branch. We had scholarship for poor students based on the merit.

Campus Life

Extra curricular activities involved Cricket, Basketball, Foot ball and hockey. We had music and dance classes, intrested candidates can join and get engaged in college cultural fest and activities.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they are really helpfull.They used to send us monthly digest letters in pdf format. All cultural fest invites are sent from alumni group. All college related information are also sent from Alum group.

Admission

Through Common Entrance Test, i have got 2700 rank in karnataka cet exam and selected Electronics and Communication engineering. My passed out batch is 2006. I have joined the college in 2002 In the month of June

Faculty

Faculty was top class, all our lecturers were MTech Graduates, All proffesors were Well experienced. Our college was in Rank 4 amongst the engineering colleges in Karnataka then, Now they are indepennt autonomous university

I choose computer science and engineering because I'm interested in technology and programming and trsungs so choose computer science and I belive cs is more is more scope and I also need to know how technology solve the real world problem .

The faculty's are well qualified, and they have a good teaching methods.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have been from diploma background, after diploma I joined this course as later entry (direct admission to 2nd year). In diploma also, I have studied the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) course. As I know the basic concepts about this course, it is easy for me now to understand the concepts.

Likes

Faculties are highly experienced and ready to help all the time
Good infrastructure with well equipped labs, library, sports
Adds extra curricular activities like teaching AI and other trending topics in college

Dislikes

Washrooms need to be clean and good to use especially for girls hygiene it has to be good
Hostel food is not that great and needs improvement in the quality of food
Thought schedule everyday hard to cope up with everything

Good the teachers find the best ways to make the subject interesting and teach us in the most interesting way they will help the weak students to feel the subject as a cake walk and help all the students out in the same way

I great there is no ragging in our college
There is a discipline in our college and good atmosphere
there is good faculty in our college and nature is good

Dislikes

there is no specific sports for there course
vehicles parking is not good our the college

Placement Experience:

from 5 th semester there will be campus place ment is there There will many companies are visited , like Amazon, google, There is 60 lakh per annual but i didn't known which companies there will be 80 percent students are getting placement my plan is to make money and help the poor peoples There is beast placement in our college , there will be a internships and good here for Hailey package in this college

Good Infrastructure and Career Opportunities

Likes

Yes the first thing I liked is the campus and the environment there is no harrasment and strict action will be taken.
And second thing is faculty members are so helpful and they always help to students and different festival
And also the campus provide all facilities and make helps to sports and ration is almost equal of boys and girls

Dislikes

Yes some things are there which I disliked first is the campus is very strict and no function are organised yearly ones or twice is very sad thing as compared to other campus
Second thing is food students facing some problem with the food which hear prepared so outsiders facing lot of problems
Third is about hostel facility is good but very strict only once a week the students should go out side and write leave letter to go there native places.

Placement Experience:

Students got opportunity to eligible after 3rd year mainly in 7th semester students get opportunity for campus interview. In my college the company which came to hire is congizent and microsoft and amezon and dell nearly 80 to 90 company are came. The company offers is highest is 40 lack per annum which google provide and minimum is 4lack . Mainly 80 percent of the students are placed every year but due to war happened in the global impact in placement I want to do masters in abroad and then go to the company

Likes

Campus is good and mainly located near Whitefield.
too good supportive professor. Staff are too chill. Some staff are like our bestfriend's.
Lab equipment are good . You are not facing any issue with pc.. it's good

Dislikes

There is only few events in a year. I think only 3 events.
Hostel building is too bad. And hostel food is too bad.
There is no field to play games like cricket, football.

Placement Experience:

After 8 sems we are eligible for placements. TCS ,Dell and many companies visited mvj. Highest package of mvj was 22lakhs per annum. Basically some companies ask CGPA at above 8. My plan is a developer after my engineering in python language or Else I will continue my dad business

Insights of the Gopalan college of engineering and Management by a First Year Student

Likes

Canteen is fine has nice and tasty food and quite a lot of options
Library is also good has every book related to my course and few others as well
Lab facilities are also very nice and the college has a nice crowd

Dislikes

It's nothing like I expected, they don't let students use the ground or turfs. Facilities are pretty bad.
They charge money for everything and has zero facilities for college students. Everything is for there school students.
College is very small and the faculties are rude to students. (Mostly the case)

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for placements from there 7th semester but I wouldn't recommend relying on college for placements. Not many companies come to this college so placements are really bad. If u have skills it would be better to apply to companies on your own. I don't have details on how many students gets placed but as much as I know it's about 30-50 % And average package is also very low. I plan of gaining skills and certification on my own and job hunting myself in 4th year through my connections and internships. Or maybe go abroad for masters As I'm a first year student I don't know much about which companies come and how much they offer.

Good ranking of college among other private colleges of India
Best location of college in the silicon valley of India
Various opportunities of internship to students

Dislikes

Campus area of the college is less than expexted
Conditions of hostels and mess is not good
Teachers and professors are not good in explaining concepts to students

Placement Experience:

From the end of 6th semester students become eligible for campus placemets.Many companies visit the campus including Oracle, UI path, etc offering students interships and full time jobs.The highest package offered to the student is 50 lakh per annum from UI Path and the average package of CSE branch is around 10lakh. Nearly 93% of students are placed in various companies.My plans after graduation is to grab a good on campus placement and look forward to my other goals in my life.

Students become eligible for placements 6th semester, a lot of companies visit college including Amazon, Anz , Accenture currently highest package is 46.56 lpa from AWS offered to 3 students placement. Last year placement percentage was 97% average package is 8.97 lpa my plan is to sit for placements

No comments on management except on decision taking, they take strict decision on attendance, discipline etc but we don't like tat. As though students are ment to break rules.

Electronics and Instrumentation branch is truly underrated!

The admission process to this branch will be based on KCET only. Eligibility is 12th pass in science stream and should a Karnataka student to write kcet.
