What Students Say

Likes

The beach and the nature around here is very good.
The seniors are very friendly and no ragging
Everything is available for everyone so if you want something 😜

Dislikes

Very high level of studies which are good but i didn't like it
No freedom for girls. Hostel for girls closes at 5 30pm
No theatres nearby if you want to watch movies

Course Curriculum Overview

I have been liking how the curriculum of amrita has been over years and it is fantastic for any student to understand and teachers were also friendly and helping out whenever we have an issue with the subject.

Class Size: 62Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internships are based on your requirement. I know seniors in third semester doing internship. There are many internships from college side or club side or your own way. There will be decent amount of payment and work load.

Placement Experience

Students will be eligible for placements from 6th sem based on their GPA. And thre are very good placements as far as i know and average was around 11lpa and highest was 56lpa ig. Min percentage is around 80 and my plans are to study abroad

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees depends upon the slab you get into and there is no more additional fees. It starts from 1lpa to 6lpa so depending upon your percentile and the course you want to take upon your fees changes.

Campus Life

The fests here are very nice and there are many clubs you can join and everyone encourages you to join and its very helpful to have a community around you. There are many events for sports and everything. Its a very happy environment.

Hostel Facilities

Fees for hostel and mess is very less compared to other private institutions Hostel + mess = 75k max Mess is basic food and egg is provided twice every week and no non-veg. Registration is all done after councelling. Rooms are comfortable but if you need more privacy there are many PG near by

Hostel Fee: INR 70000 per year

Admission

I always wanted to come to Amrita to be precise Amritapuri because of the beach and excellent faculty and facilities. I don't know about rest of the colleges. I applied for VIT and MIT but i wasn't interested because it has more fees than amrita so i chose amrita

Faculty

The faculty members strictly depends on the course you take. For me everyone were okay except the C programming one. And python sir was perfect. Every exam is based on last year paper so if you ahve solved those this will be easy

Night Life

Library closes at 8pm for mess and food purposes. Hostel timings for boys are 5 A.M to 9P.M For girls its 7A.M to 5 30P.M There are many cafes and restaurants nearby and beach ofc. Its very nice environment around and many places to visit and roam

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Comprehensive review of amrita Vishwa vidyapeetam - amritapuri campus:A blend of academic Excellence and campus life

When choosing a college several factors played a role in my decision to select Amma the Vishwa vidyapeethum campus from my cyber security program over other institutions applied to. Compared with other colleges I applied to 1. VIT Vellore 2. BITS Pilani 3. SRM institute of science and technology Amrita has an excellent repetition for its faculty in cyber security. The professors are experienced and have a strong academic background along with industry exposure which was highly appealing to me. Including well accepted cyber security lapse. These lamps focus on practical penetration testing ,network security ,and ethical hacking. Amrita amrutapuri is situated in a peaceful coastal area offering a conductive environment for studies the campus life is lively with several extra curricular and co curricular activities that I found very attractive. Wet Vellore and SRM also afford good campus life but were much larger in size and I felt amritas more intimate campus would be better for personalised learning....Read More
