Course Curriculum Overview

5

I was always interested in biology, i applied for both zoology and botany but only got chance in botany so I choose it. It prepares for further academic pursuits by giving practical knowledge on the subject.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees was apprrox 2000/sem so almost 4000/year except that there were no other fees for the course. My tution fees was 600/month. Fees for arts categories were around 1500/sem. The scholarship was 18000/year from SVMKM.

Campus Life

4

College held annual festival almost every year in January month, in the library various types of books are accessible. Almost all departments have a projector but they are barely used. In sports events both indoor and outdoor sports are organised.

Admission

I applied in 3 colleges, got chance only in two of them, this one was very close to my house. The college I got rejected from was krishnanagar govt college, my qualification weren't that bad but since I am general cast so i didn't get chance, in india cast is more important than qualifications afterall.

Faculty

5

Very approachable faculties the ratio was around 1:4. The best was our H.O.D swati mam. He used to treat us like her own kids. There were no faculties i dislikes. Total 6 exams held ever 6 months. In our class no one failed, difficulty was medium.

Interview Experience

5

There were no gd or interview test for the admission , the only criteria was to be a science student with biology subject. For the process of admission i only applied on the college website and paying the admission fees.

Night Life

4

Sometimes we used to go to the river side to drink tea. The cafeteria inside college was really small they could use some improvements. My classes usually started at 12:00 pm sometimes 11:00 depending on the day.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Reviewed on Dec 17, 2024(Enrolled 2020)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
