Course Curriculum Overview

4

Computer Science engineering curriculum has some subjects like Computer organization, Computer Architecture, Theory of Computation etc.. which many of the tech people dont study later. So, for techies IT curriculum is really good in which you can learn many technologies. for end-sem exams there's usually a study leave, which is very helpful.

Internships Opportunities

3

These are the companies that offer internships almost every year along with their stipend that is offered: Fidelity : 35k WellsFargo : 80K Oracle: 50K Optum: 30K Tiger analytics: 30K Comcast: 25K Paypal: 1L

Placement Experience

4

Campus placements are pretty good. From 5th semester students get different internship opportunities, which might again get converted into a full-time placement too. Other than these internships, the complete campus placements start at 7th sem. Highest package is 34 lpa from paypal and average package is 5 lpa. 60-70% students get palced.

Fees and Financial Aid

There's only merit based admission and special admission for NRI quota. Fees: For first year fees are 80k per sem (changes every academic year) And after that, every year there will be 5% increment in the fees for next years. Hostel fees depends on the room you select, 4 in 1 costs around 16k per year , 2 in 1 costs 20k per year and single costs 25k per year. Apart from this we need to pay mess fee every month for the food which varies around 4k-5k. Scholarships: NSP scholoarship provided by the government to everyone who applies ( need to appiled in the first in college register office). And there are some scholarships if you maintain 100% attendance.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is bare average and not so interesting. There are two fests help per sem: Cultural and technical. There's also a sports fest called Coloussem that takes place evry year. In odd sem fests happen within the campus and In even sem inter-college fests take place. Different clubs and college heads take care of the fests arrangements.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are different type of hostels. 4 in 1 ( with and without bathroom attached ), 3 in 1, 2 in 1 and single rooms. All hostels are non-AC. Fans, lights, locker and shelves are provided in all rooms. Hot water is available. Food quality is pretty average and non-tamilians have to adjust with pickels bought from home There are no pg's around college. You can get one in Thanjavur ( nearby town ).

Admission

I appiled to LPU and amritha university. I got into both of them, but didnt get CSE in amritha. I chose SASTRA over them is due to the fees and the location.Admission process for SASTRA is only merit-based and through their portal. They release an application form from which students can apply by providing your 12th marks and JEE marks. Based on these grades, they release a rank list and open portal for counselling. We can select our desired courses in counselling. On basis of our ranks. seats are allocated in counselling

Faculty

4

Faculty is generally strict about internals and students must come to class on time. For every student there will be a mentor assigned from staff. Mentors guide us in academics and also about any issue we face. Some senior faculty are really talented in teaching and also have done so much research. Three CIA's are conducted in a sem, best of two are selected to assign internals (40). 10 marks are for assignments and remaining 50 marks are from end-sem exams

Interview Experience

4

No, there were no group discussions or interviews for admission process, it was through college portal and The admission was completely based on your grades in 12th and in JEE. They release rank list based on those grades which are used in counselling again.

Night Life

3

There's no nightlife at SASTRA :) Girls need to be in hostel by 6:30 pm while classes complete by 5:15 pm on somedays. and boys need to be in hostel by 8:30pm . Girls get one permission per month on sundays to go out but timings are 8:30-4:00. There are good number of cafeterias in the campus and students can hangout in them during daytime. Library closes by 8:00 pm. but as girls need to come back by 6:30 they can take special permission. Gym for girls closes by 6:30 pm and for boys by 8:00 pm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
