Remarks

It's a good college and gives you a good exposure. It offers good placements. The college is well known across the country. Being in the capital city , one can grab the opportunity to intern in various start ups and companies.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is decent. The 4 coding branches have the best placements and course structure. These brances are Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering and Mathematics and Computing engineering.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, DTU provides on campus internship placements. But these opportunities are limited. So most students apply for internships off campus. With the brand name of college, it wouldn't be much trouble finding the internship of your choice.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements at DTU are at par with the IITs. The placement body is lead by students. Every year many companies visit the campus. The coding branches are the first to get placed and bag the highest packages. Other core branches have placements but the pay offered to them is a bit low. Branches like ENE, EP ,PCT , Biotechnology see the lowest placements.

College Events

4.5

DTU has a happening campus. The annual cultural fest, Engifest , is held every year around February. It is preceeded by Aahvaan , the sports fest and proceeded by the Tech fest. The college also hosts Freshers party, farewell party.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My fees was around 80000 pa. It is feasible as compared to other colleges. The hostel fees is also quite affordable. Also there are many scholarships available for outstanding students and economically backword students.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not avail any such scholarship. Students take student loans from banks. There is scholarship for batch toppers , economically weaker students and ST students. One may avail these scholarships. the college doesn't provide any loan.

Campus Life

4

There are a lot of extra curricular activities in DTU. There are a number of societies in the college and one may join these as per one's interest. There's is dance society, music society, dramatics society , sports society to name a few.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel infrastructure is quite old and outdated. Students live cramped up in small rooms. This is due to the acute shortage of hostels. Although the hostel fees is quite less. But the living conditions are not that good. The mess food is good.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is not that active as of now. Although there is a group on Linkedin by the name of DCE Almaconnect which is quite active and has old and recent alumnis. Every year a get together is hosted in Delhi.

Exam Structure

DTU has a semester type exam structure. In a year there are 2 semesters. Making it a total of 8 semesters. It is a credit based system wherein a candidate has to score 30 credits in every semester.

Admission

Admissions in DTU are through JEE Mains marks. The admission is through a joint committee by the name of JAC ( Joint Admission Committee). Through JAC Delhi, one can apply for admission to NSIT, DTU , IIITD and IGDTU.

Faculty

3.5

It is decent. Every department has a mix of good and average teachers. But overall the faculty is helpful and is open to teaching beyond classrooms. There is a shortage of teachers in the newer branches.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
