You will be happy to address yourself as an Ethirajian. You will develop modern thoughts and you will become empowered woman. The greatest negative remark is the public transportation. There are no frequently buses to few places.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is good in comparison with many other city colleges. There are soft skill classed and also non major elective classes. Many departments also conduct few specialised classes. But they can also bring many changes in the curriculum so that it fits to the present generation.
Internships Opportunities
No. College doesn't provide any internships. But in some departments they refer to few organisation where you can complete your internships. Majority of the department will not ask you with any sort of internships.
Placement Experience
The placement cell is Ethiraj college is functioning efficiently. Top companies will come for placements. All you need to do is to register yourself with the placement cell and be arrears free with at least 55% of aggregate marks.
College Events
Ethiraj college is famous for its events. Every day there will be some event taking place in the auditorium. If you are lucky enough you will be invited as audience to the program. Arambh&maithri and shristi are two major cultural events that will take place every year. Founder's day and college day will also be celebrated.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There are two streams. Aided stream (day college) and self financing stream(evening college). In aided stream, you will be selected purely based on the merit list. The fees is really affordable in the aided stream. Self financing stream is a bit costly than aided stream.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you belong to OBC/ SC/ ST Category, you will be given forms to apply for the government scholarship. The amount will be directly credited in your bank account. College will also provide few scholarships if you perform well in your academics.
Campus Life
Ethiraj college supports students who are good in sports. There are given permissions and they can concentrate in their sports. You will also get a good mentor and a good coach. You will also be provided scholarships. There are many clubs through which you can render your service. There is also good lab facilities.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel infrastructure is good. Food will be also be provided in the hostel mess. Cost is also nominal. You can't expect more from a college hostel and from the college mess. College hostel is inside the college campus.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes. Alumini meetings are conducted once in every year. Ethiraj college alumini have achieved in all fields. Senior students will always help you if you approach them. There will always be a group of senior students who will always be helpful to you at all costs.
Exam Structure
You have to undergo six semesters of examination for completing your three year degree. For internals, continuous assessment (CA) tests will be conducted twice in a semester. These marks will get added as your internal marks along with the assignment and seminar marks.
Admission
I got it on the basis of merit. You have to apply through online now whereas during my time of admission it was offline. You need to fill the application. If you are qualified based on the merit list you will definitely get the admission (in aided stream). I'm not sure about the self financing stream.
Faculty
Faculties are very cordial. They will definitely help you if you approach them in the right manner. You can clear your doubts even after the college gets over. They will also help you to choose right reference books. Opinions about faculties might vary from dept to dept.
