Course Curriculum Overview

1

In order to be ready to get a great job, the college and its curriculum is not at all helpful. Most of the students even from other majors are at the end of the day getting job in a coding or computer based company. When it comes to CSE, most of the students were dependent on other platforms to learn DSA, and add other skills of the the domain they wanted to get into. SO IN SHORT THE COLLEGE WILL ONLY BE PROVIDING YOU THE DEGREE WHICH WONT LAND YOU THE JOB YOU WOULD WANT. SO BE READY TO TAKE UP MULTIPLE COURSES ONLINE, LEARN FROM DIFFERENT PLATFORMS ONLINE ON YOUR OWN.

Fees and Financial Aid

Well the college takes admisson through majorly 3 methods through COMDEK, a local Karnataka based exam and management quota. For the locals the fee is comparetively lower which I am not particularly aware of. But for the outsiders the fee is around 2.81 lacs per year which usually increases every year for the new batches. For the management quote the fee is around 4.5 lacs per year and an additional 10 lacs that has to be paid at the time of admission. Other than these methods there are several people who gives direct admission through some sources like every corrpt college has whose amount I am not aware of.

Campus Life

3

The campus life is decent. It has CPA (Centre for performing Arts), other clubs and events even related to sports and other activites. The crowd and everything related to campus life is quite decent. The infrastructure is again quite fine.

Hostel Facilities

1

The facilites provided by the INDIAN BOYS HOSTEL which is a 4 sharing thing is FINANCIAL AND VERBAL ABUSE to the students. The quality of food imo was okish except the snacks served in the evening, although most of the students didn't liked it and hated the food but imo it was edible. WELL DURING MY TIME THEY USE TO CHARGE FOR WIFI BUT HAD NO FACILITY OF IT, but had heard after sometime when I had left the hostel that they had put up wifis now. OTHER THAN THAT THERE IS A NIGHT CERFEW TIME arounf 9 as far as I rememeber and for the girls hostel it was an hour before (hopefully might have changed by now). ***THESE PEOPLE ARE venal, avaricious, corrupt swine, money grubbing scoundred, crooked parasites. They need money maybe the college has target to complete and for that they fine students for anything. They fined students for not being in their respective rooms as it was night or something is the reason they gave. So basically its like JAIL. THATS THE REASON ALMOST EVERYBODY LEAVES THE HOSTEL AFTER 1st year.

Admission

Well after mains didnt went well, COMEDK was the test I had hopes from. I went for this college mainly people of the crowd it had, the fraud or over hiked placemnent numbers that were there on their website, with my score in comedk this was the college that i could have got. Its cutoffs for cse were among the top 3-4 colleges accepting the comedk score.

Faculty

2

Well the only good thing about the college is that it is an autonomous college so there are comparatively better than the colleges under VTU. But the Faculty is bad at max. There are a few good teachers who are good at their work and are helpful as well. But most of there teachers are either bad at their job or are not helpful and frindly to the students. They are insentive. There are also cases of paper leaks which is crazy. Over all the curriculum in decent and since it is autonomous it must be improving with the new industry demands at a faster pace. But what can be done if the faculty is shit. Good teachers were leaving the college while I was in the college. There was a new subject added to our curriculum to meet the needs of the industry but what's the use of it if the college cant provide a decent teacher for the students. There were 3-4 changes in one particular subject itself in the 5th semester as far as I rememeber. Overall except a handful of teacher who are good and helpful to students rest are pathetic, rude, unhelpful, baised, bullies.

Night Life

1

THere is no night life in the college as after 8 for girls and 9 for boys the college hostels are shut as far as I remember these were the timing when I was in the college in my first year. ALL I SAY IS DONT STAY IN HOSTELS THEY ARE PATHETICS. MAY TRY FOR THE FIRST YEAR MAKE GREAT FRIENDS FROM DIFFERENT BATCHES AND MAJORS AND LEAVE IT ASAP AND LIVE IN FLATS/pg. There are many such places available around the college too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
