Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is the most perfect one. The courses are extremely relevant in these days. Especially in CSE(AI) the curriculum is modern. It touches all required subjects and domains. Its the most important reason i chose this college over others. Teaching methods are also perfect. All the professors are very friendly. However Amrita values program can feel to be a burden sometimes for students. Overall the experience is very good. The internal exams are of moderate difficulty but end sems are somewhat tougher. The main thing is that its very tough to maintain 9+CGPA here in the college as grading is hard.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship opportunities are many in the college according to seniors. But you need to have good 9+CGPA for availing those. Also you require industry ready skillset. Since im still in first year im not that pro yet in those things. Projects are there for every semester in computer related subjects atleast. They help a lot in learning and adding to your resume. But if you just use chatGPT its of no use and no one can save you.

Placement Experience

5

The placement of the college is top notch. The highest package offerred this year was around 56.5lpa from PALOALTO. The average package for Computer science ranges around 10-12lpa which is very good to start with. Considering latest drop in placementsm, still around 85% of the students in CSE and allied streams have been already placed with last round still remaining. However I plan for MS after the degree. The opportunities for MS abroad from this college is very nice.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm paying annual tution fee of 2,75,000/- plus hostel fee of 75,000/- per year. There are 3 scholarship slabs in this university they are : 1. 1,50,000/- (per year) 2. 2,75,000/- (per year) 3. 4,50,000/- (per year) Non-scholarship 6,00,000/-

Campus Life

4

The main fest here is VIDYUT which is supposed to be conducted every year. But it seems that they dont have enough resources to conduct it every year. Its delayed. This year though its dated 23-25th of May. The clubs here are also top notch starting from amFOSS, bi0s among others. They have clubs in every domain from robotics to environmental conservation. They help in proper mentoring of the students. Seniors are pretty good to deal with. Sports facilities are an utter waste except badminton. One can hardly get time to play football because of class schedule. Also the coaches demand you to come everyday skipping classes to play for college team. Every classroom has smartclass with projectors allowing casting. Please note that language bias is a thing here and can sometimes prove to be a bit harmful.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities like the room is spacious. But the restrictions are the worst. Like you cant even use your own electronic devices like iron etc. If it gets caught by warden it will be confiscated. Also outside food isnt allowed inside the room which makes most of the folks angry as mess food is the worst food in the world. The mess food doesnt change and it creates anger amongst us everyday. They dont even change the menu on special occaisions and eating same veg food everyday is a harsh treatment to our taste buds. PGs though are also available nearby but its not much preferred for non Malayalis.

Admission

The course curriculum is the best among other private colleges. That is the fact which makes this college very underrated. I feel most of us should look for this college as it provides us most industrially recognised skills from the first year itself. Apart from IITs NITs BITS, this college is the best option for anyone. Getting CSE in IITs and BITS pilani is way harder. Also according to me and the seniors this college provides better skills than any NITs in Computing department. Apart from the food everything is top notch here. Admission process was smooth starting from counselling.

Faculty

4

The faculty here are very friendly and mostly all are having doctorate in thier streams, and my course is CSE-AI the curriculum of this course is also intresting and this course is the hardest course out of all courses available in our college.

Night Life

3

Nightlife is basically a big 0. There are a lot of useless restrictions for hostel. U should enter the building by 9pm at night. Also if you dont have clubs you arent allowed to stay after 9pm. Also wardens are very strict and favour the Malayalis. Hangout places during day and evening include the backwaters and the Amrita sagar beach which is just 2-3mins away by walking. The locality though is very safe to roam around. If you dont have any fights with local people you can pretty much expect good behaviour from everyone. Because of language barrier sometimes misunderstandings can arise which impacts these negatively.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
