Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course is really outdated as compared to NLUs. The teachers at times themselves dont understand what they are teaching. Its mostly memory based nothing practical. Our syllabus needs to be updated.

Internships Opportunities

5

The internships offered by college are mostly under Advocates. The tenure and stipend differs from advocate to advocate. The opportunities are pretty decent and a good starter for someone. I am interning at Mulla & Mulla and I didnt got this opportunity throug my college.

Placement Experience

5

We have a dedicated placement committee. The average package is 10-15 lakhs and the highest is 24 lakhs. The lowest go to 8-10 lakhs. The placement rate is around 96%. All the top firms like AZB, Cyril Amarchand, Trilegal, etc come to our college. I am going to prepare the Solicitors exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

For Aided Division: It is 6000-7000 For Unaided Division: It is 42000 For Reserved Categories: It is less than 1k, for SC category I had to only pay Rs. 430/- There are many scholarships and almost everyone avails them

Campus Life

5

The campus life is not much happening. There are fests in our college and since colleges like St. Xaviers, JHC, etc are near us we even attend their events. There are number of events happening in our college and those are really fun. We have fully air conditioned library with remote access and an auditorium.

Admission

I was at HNLU an year before, i came to GLC as I am from Mumbai. In terms of another colleges, GLC is on par with TOP 5 NLUs in terms of reputation and placements, not academics. HNLU as compared to GLC is very behind be it location wise or in other matters.

Faculty

4

The permanent faculty is very rude, whereas the visiting faculty is extremely nice and they super good at teaching. Only the unaided division has visiting faculty. Faculties I liked: Pandurang Daphal (Permanent Faculty) he is really sweet and understanding and teaches very well. He is an English Teacher. Shipra Raghuvanshi (Visiting Faculty) she is again very understanding and teaches very well. She teaches English as well. Laxmi Yadav (Visiting Faculty) she teaches us Political Theory. She is extremely coperative with the students. One of the best. Prashant Pandey (Visiting Faculty) he taught us economics in SEM-I and he is the best teacher in GLC. He is an amazing teacher. The marks breakup is as follows: 25 marks: Internals 75 marks: Final Exams The syllabus is really easy and mostly cramming based. Only 15 people failed in our batch of 266.

Night Life

5

Its Mumbai and the statement Mumbai never sleeps is very true. There are tons of restaurants and cafe's near our college. Hostels are private hostels and students have to look on their own. Marine Drive, Chowpatty, Khau gully, irani cafes, BSE, Bombay High Court.
