Karpagam College of Pharmacy Coimbatore, B.pharm

Reviewed on Nov 3, 2019

Remarks

Overall it is a simple and average college. With decent experience i have been gained. There are some technically shortages but i loved that peaceful natural environment. My opinion you may consider karpagam college of pharmacy

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

B.pharm is a chemistry based course.Along with biological,technology,analysis,pharmacognacy(medicinal plants),pharmacy rules®ulation,etc.First year-5 subjects,Second year-5 subjects,Third year-6 subjects,Final year-6 subjects.Written and practical exams yearly 3-sessional(internal)&1 semester.

Placement Experience

Yes,Placement & job opportunities are less often in our college. In our batch 2013-2017 there are only three companies are came for campus interview. Nowadays the number of companies for campus interview are increased . No internship in our college.

College Events

We celebrate lot of functions. The list begins from freshers party, chrismas&new year celebration, pongal festival celebration;culturals, sports events,Annual day, pharmacy week, farewell party, etc.I think this is my favourite part in my college.Lots of fun!

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees in 2013-2017 is Tution fee Rs.40,000 per annum.Plus Exam fee Rs.4000+ and practical fee. May be it is slightly expensive. But i am sure nowadays it will be higher and expensive for middle-class peoples.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got first graduate scholarship for every years.Other than they give scholarship on the basis of community. In post graduate our college giving GPAT scholarship for those who passed the GPAT examination.

Campus Life

2.5

Extracurricular activities like awareness rallies and medical camp are often held.Laboratory is not well equipped and its below average.Sports events like inter college sports competition are conducted.Transport facilities are ok.

Hostel Facilities

Yes.I stayed in hostel for four years.Hostel rooms are good with natural environment.Very chill in winter. Sometime they give free wifi. The problem is food. with regular timetable. Mostly the breakfast is worst.Totally hostel infrastructure and facilities is rated as Average.

External Expense: Rs.7000 - Rs.10000

Alumni/Alumna

My college first alumni meet was held at last month (june).Get together and fun.And yes our college alumni community is working ver well.Ofcourse it is very useful with that alumni session. we shared our experience and old meomeries.

Admission

I got admission by attending counselling in the mark basis. Then i selected this college because my family and relatives recommended to join karpagam college of pharmacy. And finally i got admission in 2013 October.

Faculty

Frankly some staff are don't know how to teach But they are very knowledgeable person.Their way of teaching is little bit confusing and not have a clarity.Rest are very good in knowledge and teaching.

A Good College Experience with Opportunities for Learning and Growth

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is fairly relevant and comprehensive, covering both theoretical concepts and practical applications. It provides a good foundation for technical knowledge, but including more industry-oriented projects, hands-on training, and updated technologies would make it even better for future career opportunities.

the college provides a decent learning environment and satisfactory infrastructure the course is useful for professional growth and the placement support helps students prepare for interviews and career opportunities.
more pratical training industry visit and placement opportunities with higher salary packages would improve the experience the teaching methods could include more real world case studies the girls to boys ratio varies by batch.

Dislikes

more pratical training industry visit and real world case studies should be included in the mba curriculum to improve learning.

Placement Experience:

the college provides placement opportunities for mba stidents and placement preparation helps improve communication aptitude and intherviews skills students generally become eligible for campus requirements. the companies visiting number of offers and salary packages may vary each year. my expected annual package is aroung 5 lpa. the average and highest packages and the percentage of students placed depend on the placement records of each batch. more company visit and internship opportunities would improve placements further after completing my mba i plan to start my carrer in a management related role gain industry experience and develop my professional skills for future growth.

girls to boys ratio is 1:1 is we consider all three branches with some courses with more male while other having for female.more or less the ratio is near 1:1
the most important thing for you is there is close to zero discrimination for you , whether you want to join any club or perform anything you are equivalent to students with others bachelor degree
octagon and library are the two things which are good as library is considered the biggest library among all nit's while octagon having 800 computers for students.NSO ground is also well maintained with the beautiful mig fighter jet to take cool phot

Dislikes

for first years hostel are well maintained if compared with others but don't expect much from hostel atlast this is a government college.in first year 3 to 4 person sharing room are there which was build to carry 2 person.
Quant and entrepreneur thing is not there as you might expect by seeing the nirf 9 ranking but it is not zero .they are growing clubs like profNITT and Sigma are young and they could do better
curfew timing for girls are 9 or 9:30 pm i guess be it any year. for boys ,only freshers have curfew with timing 9:30 pm.other than that any student can't step outside the college after 10 pm without the sign out form.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as maths is the mother of all science and quite related to other fields so it opens a lot of door for me like mba ,mtech ,phd or any other things. this course is specifically designed for becoming teachers so keep that in mind before taking this course as they are not flexible in changing curriculum or adding something for the sake of students as of now. also you will be having more working days compared to other courses with 80 percent mandatory attendance.after first sem you will get 1 week holiday and after 2nd sem you will get 50.days holiday and after first year you can expect 20 days holiday for winters and 50 days holiday for summers. you will get a lot of time to study for exams. before ct 1 you can expect 2 months and then atleast a month for ct 2 and endsems. cons are that you don't have the right to choose minor or electives like btech students.you have to compulsory study all three science .i.e. maths , physics, chemistry.

Strict rules (needed, but some are too strict)

Placement Experience:

From the sixth semester the student are eligible for placements and prominent companies such as bicon, lifecell, zoho, Thermofisher, lmt mindtree, jubilant food works, siemens, bioartha and around 2030 offers has been made os of april 2026 for my batch. the percentage of students getting placed is over 95 percent as the rest of the students have opted for higher studies like me. i plan on doing my masters abroad.
