Course Curriculum Overview

4

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Fees and Financial Aid

so talking about the fees in first year i paid 2,29 lakh and in second year i paid 2,46 lakh and in third year i paid 266 lakh in same way in 4th year i will have to pay 2,86 lakh this includes all the other fess like lab fee health fee and development and all other fees , as i am a pwd candidate so i got money from scholarship and other students also have to pay equal fee the thing is only just they got the money refunded by other scholarships in which they had applied and there are so many scholarships that dtu have provided like i cant write name of every scholarship you canc heck it on website , there are many scholarship like via nsp u can apply and there is one more known as dtu scholarship and annually they also released a performa in which some or we can say major scholarships are for the ward of military children

Campus Life

4

My overall experience with campus life at DTU has been really engaging and vibrant. Socially, there’s always something happening—annual cultural festival Rendezvous and technical fest Engifest, usually held around March–April and February respectively, are huge highlights. The library is well-stocked with a wide range of books, journals, and e-resources, making it easy to access study materials. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, smart boards, and Wi-Fi, which makes learning interactive. Sports and extracurriculars are well-supported, with facilities for cricket, football, basketball, badminton, and indoor games, along with dance, music, and drama clubs. There are also student-run groups and portals, like the DTU Student Portal and various departmental clubs, which help in organizing events, mentoring juniors, and creating a strong sense of community on campus. Overall, campus life is a perfect mix of academics, social engagement, and personal growth.

Admission

I chose DTU mainly because of its strong reputation in engineering, excellent faculty, and well-structured curriculum compared to other colleges I applied to. I also applied to colleges like NSIT and IGDTUW, but I either didn’t get a confirmed admt really tipped the scale in favor of DTU was the combination of good placement records, Physics, Chemistry, and Maths, and admissions are based on JEE Main ranks, which is the most preferred exam. The cutoff ranks vary by branch and category, but DTU usually has a high cutoff due to its popularity. Overall, the admission experience was smooth, with online counseling and clear instructions, making it easy to secure a seat once you meet the eligibility and cutoff requirements.

Faculty

4

At DTU, the faculty-to-student ratio is pretty decent, usually around 1:15 to 1:80 depending on the department, so most professors are approachable and open to queries. While many students really like faculty who explain concepts clearly and support students during projects or office hours, a few feel some teachers could be more timely with feedback. The B.Tech course is structured over four years with a total of 172 credits, starting with foundational subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming in the first year, followed by core department courses, electives, and projects in later years. Exams happen every semester, with a mix of mid-terms, end-terms, assignments, and project evaluations, and grades range from O (Outstanding) to F (Fail). Most students find the curriculum relevant to current industry trends, though the workload can be intense and practical industry exposure could be better. Overall, DTU balances academic rigor with supportive faculty interaction, making it manageable if you stay consistent.

Interview Experience

4

For DTU admissions, I didn’t have to go through any Group Discussion or Interview rounds since the process is completely based on JEE Main scores and counseling through JAC Delhi. There wasn’t any separate written test either. The selection mainly depends on your JEE rank, category, and choice filling during counseling. However, I did prepare well for JEE by focusing on NCERTs, practicing previous years’ papers, and taking online mock tests regularly. The counseling process was smooth and online—after document verification and seat allotment, the admission was finalized. Overall, the process was more about exam performance and timely registration than interviews or GD rounds.

Night Life

4

The nightlife around DTU is fairly laid-back but enjoyable. Most campus facilities like the library, gym, and cafeterias close by 8–9 PM, while hostels have quiet hours after 11 PM, so late-night activities are mostly limited to hostel common rooms or small get-togethers. Inside campus, students often hang out at hostel lounges, cafeteria areas, or the open greens for group discussions and socializing. Nearby, places like Rohini malls, local cafes, and eateries are popular spots to unwind, and the locality is generally safe for students to roam around at night. After a day of classes, students usually relax by catching up with friends, playing indoor games, or attending small club meetups, which really adds to the overall fun and social vibe of college life..

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
