Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum in this college is uoto date, very relevant and with at par with the real world scenario, we learn about disorders, different schools of psychology and a lot more. There is a perfect balance of practical and theory, which is needed in psychology. In terms of improvement, there is always room for it, as of now there arent any suggestions from my side. The frequency of exams are fine, they give us time to prepare however I feel like as, according to the NEP, the semesters should be 6 months long but here they are cutting it short.

Fees and Financial Aid

At the time of admission, there was a ?50000 deposit, which was the admission fee and ?40,700 semester fees, which are to be paid every semester. Apart from that if you didn't appear in any kind of competitive exam and opted for direct admission they charge a ?600 for that. There are student loans available, financial aid I do not think so.

Campus Life

4

There are annual fests in our college though I am not aware with the name as I am only a first semester student. The range and accessibility of books in the library is just amazing, even the sitting area is so well maintained, great for studying or going through books. There are whiteboards, projectors and AC in most classrooms. For sports or any activity there are social clubs offered by our college that you can join and you can always see them doing something everyday, it makes the college look so lively.

Admission

I chose this college because of the infrastructure, the course framework, the faculty. I did get a confirmed admission from several different colleges but they were not as renowned as this one. I also did get a rejection from some top government institutions, probably due to high competition and me not making through the cutoff. The admission process of my college is fairly simple, they do not require you to sit for an exam or anything.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is 1:35, which in my opinion isn't that bad. The teachers are very approachable and helpful. As of now there aren't any faculties that i dont like. We have 4 CA exams and usually they are assignments or presentations, the topics are fairly easy yet interesting. It's unheard of that someone doesn't make it through. The course curriculum is upto date and very relevant, better than some government institutions.

Night Life

3

There is a canteen which serves decent food also some improvements can be made, a well kept and well maintained library. There is a ground where students can hangout during breaks. Our college does not offer hostel facilities though there are numerous pgs and flats for rent that are student friendly. This locality is pretty safe to roam around at night, though for girls it's always advisable to bring a friend. There aren't many spots to roam around near the college but people prefer to go to gariahat, a famous place for street shopping and for street food as well.

Other Applied Colleges

Techno India University | BA Psychology

The curriculum didn't fit well for me, the course framework isnt updated according to the NEP, which makes undergrad to be 4 year long instead it was only 3 years long.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Sc Computer Science Faculty: Student ratio is = 4:23 may vary a bit Faculty are well Qualified & Teaching method is okay good, but not to the mark like very good or excellent. The exam term was timely (sometimes it gets a bit late due to some natural disaster like cyclone, heavy rainfall, etc or any govt. & university delays), and the exam level is nearly too difficult, something like in between moderate to difficult.
