- The two buildings of our college are yellow coloured modern art piece.
- College life is as engaging as NUJs as we have moot court and MUN societies which are as good as anything.
- Our faculties too are scholarship and have knowledge which is unlimited.
Dislikes
- Placements as not as per the name of Heritage legacy.
- Just one girls and boys hostels and students are more from other towns and States.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had vested interest in law since lockdown. I finished my 12th in 2020 and decided to take a year to decide what to pursue further. I saw the webseries Suites during then and that gave me the motivation to pursue law. So, yes an American court room drama that was my influence to pursue law and hence I am doing so or rather about to finish so in just few months from now.
Internships Opportunities
Kolkata judicial system and law firms are plenty and therefore our college easily provides us internships over there. Role depends on the kind of intenrships which we get like I did 8 internships so far and everytime I went to new expert. Stipend in our field ka slim to none though.
Placement Experience
Number of students who have been placed is far less than what it should be ideally. Kolkata is a paradise for law practice as it is the largest city of India and lawyers have always been in demand here. Still only 30% of the students are placed here and that's a big issue considering the name of our college.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am Sarbani and I am pursuing Law from one of the most premiere law colleges of Kolkata and that is Heritage Law College. Heritage Group overall holds a great name in academics and their engineering college is at the top but law unit is also not far behind. Our college fees is also very much in range as it is just 30,000 per semester.
Campus Life
Campus isn't that big as ther are two blocks dedicated fully for academics and then one each for boys and girls hostels. We have active nearly 15-20 societies and social work awareness and all is done through our campus. We are also taken to courts for judgements of some special cases and so it makes learning useful.
Admission
Our college is affiliated with Kolkata University and all the Calcutta University affiliation colleges has to have CULET scores as their admission criteria. Our college follows that and it was on the results of that, that students get the admission at the Heritage Law College.
Faculty
Sriparna mam is definitely the favourite as she is often deemed for doing partiality with girls but i don't think she does so. Overall ratio is 1:14 between students and faculties and all are amazing to be fair. In all fairness there aren't any free lunches and thus they make us took hard and that is how good lawyers are made so for all the efforts they have put behind us all these years, I will salute them.
Night Life
Our college is located in a semi urban area and therefore there are some good places and majorly it's the offices. So, corporate people are seen walking and in the restaurant nearby and all have the students or the young crowd and thus it feels spending time near our college campus.
