Course Curriculum Overview

4

My interest in the BMM curriculum was shaped by a combination of its theory & psychology of media & storytelling that makes a difference - this aligned with m interests in writing and communication. The curriculum prepared me for real-world applications through assignments, helping me build the foundation of media literacy & audience understanding. What could be improved is the fact that the course leans more heavily on theory and can profit by integrating more industry exposure, hands-on expereince, and digital media tools. There can be more teaching methods like engaging workshops, live projects and case studies. Exams were conducted every few months and were very manageable in terms of preparation.

Placement Experience

5

There were cmapus placements but not very enticing. Since I already had a full-time job with BBC GoodFood India Magazine as i already cracked this job first in my college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for Bachelor's in Mass Media differed from semester to semester. It ranged between 40,000 to 60,000 per semester. The registration fees was minimal, not more than 700rupees. There were no separate lab fee or development fee or any other charges other than our per semester tution fee as mentioned above. Fees for my batchmates also varied from category to category. For instance, my bachmates studying Law at Lords Universal paid between 38,000-50,000 (I'm not sure if that's per semester or per year). Mass Media is one of the fields which doesn't involve much scholarship or financial aid, however, the fee itself was quite low in my experince for the level of personalized education & media projects they prompted us towards. Overall, an amazing experience.

Campus Life

5

Not many annual or technical festivals, this can be imporved on. A college of young students really needs more engagement activities. No sports or extra curriculars much either - if they fix it, it will be perfect.

Admission

I chose Lords Universal over options like Thakur & Bhavan's because it offered me flexibility with attendance, allowing me to continue working withmy studies. Since I already had a job in the field, this was important for getting practical experience.

Faculty

5

Faculty was top-notch. Especially professors in Mass Media. They truly understood the nature of the field, how it requires hands-on expereince, not jsut theory. The lessons never felt like finishing syllabus, everyday was about learning something interesting, in the field of our interest, whicich would gie us an upper hand in our professional lives. Dimple ma'am, hands-down; she was the Head of Department & everybody admired her. i remeber she was always active and always on her feet, moving about helping students execute different media activites & projects. Exams were every 6 months (besides the internal tests we had every 4 months), they were fairly easy (which is not unusual for Mass Media examinations). Most poeple cleared the exams. The course curriculum was the most relevant one I've studied to date. I was working for a magazine of a BBC title at the time & I remember applying in office, everything I stuided in college that morning; so it was perfect. Learning about buyer personas, buyer psychology, market psychology, newspaper & magazine psychology was an absolute honor.

Night Life

2

No night-life. No activities. Its in the middle of a market. No hangout places around as such, except a theatre. Library was very small - barely had any books. Locality is not unsafe since its also residential and in the middle of a bustling street.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course. It helped me in my personality building and also I learned new things like- Video and photo editing, handling cameras, communication skills, Acting, Advertisement writing and shooting, and many more. Class strength is good as they allow 25-30 students for one course. Faculties were too supportive and masters of their own fields. They take 2 internals and 1 final exam at the end of the semester which is of 6 months.
