National University of Singapore fees for Indian students run S$21,400 (₹15.98 Lakhs) yearly for grant-supported UG Computing, and S$55,590 to S$99,953 (₹41.52 to ₹74.66 Lakhs) total for the most-applied Masters programmes: Master of Computing, MSc Business Analytics, MSc Finance, and The NUS MBA. Full-fee international UG (without the MOE Tuition Grant) runs S$33,400 to S$44,450 (₹24.95 to ₹33.20 Lakhs) per year, roughly 45% more than the grant-supported rate.

August 2027 is the main open intake Indian students are currently planning for; NUS undergraduate applications open in October 2026 and close in the last week of February 2027, and most Masters applications close between November 2026 and March 2027. A smaller set of postgraduate programmes admits a January 2028 cohort.

  • UG Computing (with MOE Tuition Grant): S$21,400 per year (₹15.98 Lakhs)
  • UG Business (with MOE Tuition Grant): S$22,200 per year (₹16.58 Lakhs)
  • UG Computing (without Tuition Grant, full fee): S$39,700 per year (₹29.65 Lakhs)
  • MSc Business Analytics total programme: S$85,000 (₹63.48 Lakhs)
  • The NUS MBA total (17 months): S$99,953 (₹74.66 Lakhs)

A one-year MSc Business Analytics at NUS totals around ₹82 Lakhs all-in, and a four-year Computing degree on the MOE Tuition Grant totals about ₹1.24 Crore including living costs. Exchange rate: 1 SGD = ₹74.6864 (xe.com, 24 July 2026).

August 2027 Intake: Planning Window Open

Intake: August 2027 is the main open intake for both UG and PG. UG applications open on 20 October 2026 (CBSE/ISC) and close on 26 February 2027. Most Masters programmes accept from November 2026 to early March 2027. Singapore Student Pass processing takes 4 to 6 weeks, so the August 2027 timeline is comfortably workable from India.

Fee update: The AY 2026/2027 rates apply to the 2026 cohort; AY 2027/2028 fees will be published in April 2027 with a likely 5-7% increase based on the past three-year trend. Grant-supported UG runs S$21,400 to S$30,450 (₹15.98 to ₹22.74 Lakhs) yearly; taught Masters run S$55,590 to S$99,953 (₹41.52 to ₹74.66 Lakhs) total.

When to pay: S$6,714.40 (₹5.01 Lakhs) acceptance fee for taught Masters (S$10,900, ₹8.14 Lakhs, for MBA and MSc Business Analytics) secures your offer and is due within two weeks of acceptance. Full instalment schedule and payment methods are in the Tuition Deposit section below.

Scholarships: The NUS Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship application opens 1 February 2027 and closes 19 March 2027, alongside the UG admission form. External Indian awards for the August 2027 cohort open between September 2026 (JN Tata Endowment) and March 2027 (Inlaks), so this is the planning window to prepare essays and referees.

National University of Singapore Tuition Fees by Programme

NUS runs a two-tier international fee system: students who accept the MOE Tuition Grant (a Singapore government subsidy that comes with a 3-year service bond in a Singapore-registered company) pay roughly 45% less than students who decline the grant and pay full international fees. Both tiers are inclusive of 9% Goods and Services Tax. Most Indian undergraduates opt into the Tuition Grant since Singapore’s post-study job market makes the bond straightforward to serve.

National University of Singapore Undergraduate Fees for Indian Students (AY 2026/2027)

The figures below apply to Indian students admitted in August 2026 for the 2026/27 academic year; a fresh table for the August 2027 cohort will be published by NUS in April 2027 and typically rises 4-7% year-on-year.

National University of Singapore Postgraduate Fees for Indian Students (AY 2026/2027)

Taught Masters at NUS are billed as a total programme fee rather than per year, since most run 1 to 2 years. The figures below are the full international rate inclusive of GST and are the actual fee an Indian student pays, since the MOE Tuition Grant does not apply to self-funded coursework Masters.

ProgrammeDurationTotal Fee (SGD)Total Fee (INR)
MSc Business Analytics1 yearS$85,000₹63.48 Lakhs

Application fee: S$100 to S$150 (₹7,469 to ₹11,203) depending on programme. Sources: NUS MSc Finance, NUS MSBA, NUS Master of Computing, NUS MSc Computer Engineering.

Note: NUS fees are quoted per academic year (Semesters 1 and 2 combined) for UG, and as a total programme fee for coursework Masters. The 9% GST is already baked into the international student rate; you do not add it again. The MOE Tuition Grant is applied automatically to Business, Computing, Humanities, and Sciences UG students unless you formally opt out, but it carries a mandatory 3-year bond working in Singapore after graduation, so factor that into your decision before enrolling.

National University of Singapore Fee Trend by Year

NUS international undergraduate fees on the MOE Tuition Grant tier have risen from S$17,980 (₹13.43 Lakhs) in AY 2022/2023 to S$21,400 (₹15.98 Lakhs) in AY 2026/2027 for the Computing cohort, a five-year climb of about 19% or roughly 4.5% per year on average. The last two years accelerated to a 5.8% and 7.0% jump respectively, so budget for a similar rise when the August 2027 (AY 2027/2028) rate is published in April 2027.

Academic YearComputing UG (SGD)Computing UG (INR)YoY Change
AY 2022/2023S$17,980₹13.43 LakhsBaseline
AY 2023/2024S$17,965₹13.42 Lakhs-0.08%

Key Insight: The August 2027 intake is billed at whatever rate NUS publishes in April 2027; based on the last two years’ pace, expect the Computing UG figure to land between S$22,500 and S$23,000 (₹16.81 to ₹17.18 Lakhs) per year, roughly ₹1.10 Lakhs above the current rate. Starting your cost planning against S$23,000 (₹17.18 Lakhs) rather than S$21,400 (₹15.98 Lakhs) avoids a nasty surprise when the new schedule drops.

Cost of Living at National University of Singapore for Indian Students

NUS’s own MSc Business School estimate puts typical monthly living costs at S$1,800 to S$2,800 (₹1.34 to ₹2.09 Lakhs), with S$2,000 (₹1.49 Lakhs) per month or S$24,000 (₹17.92 Lakhs) per year a realistic midpoint for an Indian student living on campus or in a shared apartment. Singapore is Southeast Asia’s most expensive city, but accommodation and food remain cheaper than London, Sydney, or Toronto.

Source: NUS Business School official living expenses guide for international students.

Note: Undergraduates typically budget on a 10-month academic year (mid-August to mid-May), while Masters students in one-year programmes budget on a full 12 months. That single change makes a difference of about S$4,000 (₹2.99 Lakhs) per year in your total-cost estimate.

Singapore’s small size means the MRT plus bus network covers everywhere a student needs to go; NUS’s Kent Ridge campus itself is 150 hectares with an internal bus loop, so on-campus students often spend under S$60 (₹4,481) monthly on transport. Accommodation is the single line item Indian students most consistently underestimate: PGP House rooms typically start around S$800 (₹59,749) per month with utilities, while a private co-living room in Buona Vista or Clementi runs S$1,500 to S$2,000 (₹1.12 to ₹1.49 Lakhs).

Currency Tip: Your first tuition instalment and acceptance fee both fall due before you arrive for the August 2027 intake. Use a forex card loaded when the SGD is below ₹75, or wire through the NUS-partnered Convera / Flywire portal to save 2 to 3% on the exchange spread versus a raw bank wire. On a S$40,000 (₹29.87 Lakhs) tuition payment, that saved spread is roughly ₹90,000.

Total Cost of Studying at National University of Singapore

The first-year total cost varies dramatically by programme and whether you accept the MOE Tuition Grant. The scenarios below cover the four combinations most Indian students at NUS actually enrol under, with all figures at the AY 2026/2027 rate.

ScenarioTuition (Year 1)Living (Year 1)Mandatory FeesTotal Year 1 (INR)
UG Computing (With MOE Grant, 10-mo living)₹15.98 Lakhs₹14.94 Lakhs₹8,960₹31.01 Lakhs
UG Computing (Full Fee, 10-mo living)₹29.65 Lakhs₹14.94 Lakhs₹8,960₹44.68 Lakhs
MSc Business Analytics (12-mo living)₹63.48 Lakhs₹17.92 Lakhs₹8,960₹81.49 Lakhs
The NUS MBA (17-mo living, full programme)₹74.66 Lakhs₹25.39 Lakhs₹8,960₹1.00 Crore

The full four-year Computing UG programme with the MOE Tuition Grant totals approximately ₹1.24 Crore (₹63.92 Lakhs tuition + ₹59.76 Lakhs living); without the grant, it climbs to roughly ₹1.79 Crore. A ₹1.24 Crore education loan at 10.5% over 10 years works out to an EMI of approximately ₹1.68 Lakhs per month, while the same MBA loan at ₹1.00 Crore comes to around ₹1.35 Lakhs per month.

Key Insight: For the August 2027 Computing UG cohort, accepting the MOE Tuition Grant saves approximately ₹13.67 Lakhs per year versus the full international rate, or about ₹54.68 Lakhs across four years. The trade-off is a mandatory 3-year employment bond with a Singapore-registered company after graduation; given Singapore’s median fresh-graduate salary of S$4,600 (₹3.44 Lakhs) per month, most Indian students clear that bond comfortably within their first job.

National University of Singapore Scholarships for Indian Students

Indian students at NUS are eligible for the university’s international scholarship suite plus most Indian government and trust awards. The single most valuable one, the Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship, functionally makes a NUS Computing or Engineering degree free after the MOE Tuition Grant.

National University of Singapore Tuition Deposit and Payment Options

NUS requires a non-refundable acceptance fee of S$6,714.40 (₹5.01 Lakhs) for most taught Masters and S$10,900 (₹8.14 Lakhs) for MBA and MSc Business Analytics; UG students pay a smaller S$5,450 (₹4.07 Lakhs) acceptance fee. Every acceptance fee counts toward your total tuition and secures your seat plus the In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter needed for the Singapore Student Pass application.

Methods of Payment for National University of Singapore Tuition

  • Bank telegraphic transfer (TT): A direct SWIFT wire to DBS Bank Singapore in NUS’s account; the slowest and typically the most expensive option (₹1,500 to ₹3,000 correspondent fees on top of the exchange spread).
  • Convera GlobalPay / Flywire: NUS’s own international payment partners quote the mid-market SGD rate with a fixed processing fee, typically saving 2-3% versus a raw bank wire.
  • Forex card / multi-currency card: Load SGD when the rate is favourable, then pay via card at NUS’s online portal.
  • Education loan disbursement: Loans from HDFC Credila, Avanse, ICICI, or SBI can be disbursed directly to NUS by wire; keep the sanction letter ready for your Student Pass file.

Steps to Pay Tuition Fees at National University of Singapore for International Students

  1. Accept your offer through the NUS applicant portal within two weeks of the offer email.
  2. Pay the acceptance fee (S$5,450 for UG, S$6,714.40 for most Masters, S$10,900 for MBA or MSc Business Analytics) through Convera / Flywire.
  3. Receive the In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter needed to apply for your Singapore Student Pass; expect this 5 to 10 working days after payment.
  4. Pay Semester 1 balance by the invoiced due date, typically two weeks before the semester starts.
  5. Pay Semester 2 balance by the January invoice due date.
  6. Keep every payment receipt and IPA letter in your Student Pass and tax-relief file.

Source: NUS Office of Finance student payment portal.

Tip for Indian Students: For the August 2027 intake, plan to have your acceptance fee cleared within 10 working days of your offer; a raw SBI or HDFC telegraphic transfer from India typically takes 3 to 5 business days to reach DBS Singapore, and IPA letters are only issued after payment lands. If you use Convera through the NUS portal, the transfer is same-day and the IPA letter arrives within a week, giving you enough runway to file the Singapore Student Pass on time.

Hidden Costs of Studying at National University of Singapore

Beyond tuition and rent, first-year Indian students at NUS consistently underestimate five recurring line items. Budget for these in your loan or savings plan before the August 2027 intake so nothing derails your semester.

  • Singapore Student Pass (STP): S$30 (₹2,241) application + S$60 (₹4,481) issuance + S$30 (₹2,241) multi-entry visa = S$120 (₹8,960), one-time.
  • Compulsory medical insurance: NUS enrolls all international students in a health and hospitalisation plan at approximately S$450 (₹33,609) per year.
  • Miscellaneous Student Fees (MSF): S$500 to S$800 (₹37,343 to ₹59,749) per semester for library, IT, sports, and health services.
  • Textbooks, lab kit, and software licences: S$400 to S$800 (₹29,875 to ₹59,749) per year, higher for Engineering and Computing.
  • Initial setup on arrival: Bedding, kitchenware, deposit, SIM activation, hostel/co-living security deposit typically total S$1,500 to S$2,500 (₹1.12 to ₹1.87 Lakhs), one-time in Month 1.
  • India-side pre-departure: Passport reissuance if needed, IELTS/TOEFL fees (₹16,900 to ₹17,000), courier of transcripts, GTE proofs: budget ₹30,000 to ₹50,000.

All told, budget approximately ₹4 to ₹6 Lakhs for hidden costs across Year 1, above and beyond the tuition and monthly living-cost lines.

Note: The single line most Indian families forget is the initial setup on arrival: S$1,500 to S$2,500 (₹1.12 to ₹1.87 Lakhs) for a room security deposit, bedding, and basic kitchen items. This is due within your first week in Singapore, not part of the tuition invoice, so keep it in a separate forex card that you land in Singapore with.

Fee Saving Strategies at National University of Singapore for Indian Students

For the August 2027 intake, the single highest-value lever is deciding on the MOE Tuition Grant before you accept your offer; the second is claiming Section 80E tax relief on your Indian education loan from disbursement year one.

  • Accept the MOE Tuition Grant if eligible: Saves ₹13.67 Lakhs per year on Computing UG versus full fee, in exchange for a 3-year work bond in Singapore. Singapore’s post-study Employment Pass path makes this the default choice for most Indian UG students.
  • Apply for on-campus PGP or UTown accommodation immediately: Saves S$500 to S$700 per month (₹4.48 to ₹6.28 Lakhs per year) versus a private co-living apartment in Buona Vista.
  • Claim Section 80E tax relief in India: The interest portion of your Indian education loan is fully deductible for up to 8 years; on a ₹50 Lakh loan at 10.5%, that shelters up to ₹5.25 Lakhs of taxable income in Year 1 alone.
  • Take on-campus part-time work (up to 16 hours/week): STP holders can work as teaching assistants, research assistants, or in the library at roughly S$12 to S$20 per hour (₹896 to ₹1,494), generating S$700 to S$1,200 per month (₹52,280 to ₹89,624) during term.
  • Use the NUS Alumni 20% tuition rebate for a second qualification: If you have already completed an NUS degree, subsequent taught Masters programmes offer a 20% tuition rebate; combined with the merit awards, this can drop a S$85,000 (₹63.48 Lakhs) MSBA to under S$70,000 (₹52.28 Lakhs).

Tip for Indian Students: For the August 2027 intake, applying for the Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship (deadline 19 March 2027) is worth roughly ₹75 Lakhs across four years when you count the tuition waiver, S$6,000 (₹4.48 Lakhs) annual living stipend, computer allowance, and accommodation subsidy. Even a shortlist near-miss is often converted into a partial NUS Global Merit or International UG Scholarship, so it costs nothing to apply.

Is National University of Singapore Worth the Cost for Indian Students

A NUS Computing UG on the MOE Tuition Grant totals ₹1.24 Crore across four years; a taught Masters averages ₹65 to ₹82 Lakhs all-in for one year. Against that, NUS ranks #10 in the QS World University Rankings 2027, #17 in Times Higher Education World Rankings 2026, and #3 across Asia (QS Asia 2026), with the NUS 2024 Graduate Employment Survey showing a fresh-graduate median monthly salary of S$4,600 (₹3.44 Lakhs) and over 90% employment within six months across 17 degree programmes.

Singapore’s post-study Employment Pass path is genuinely favourable to NUS graduates: a Computing or Business graduate can typically clear the S$5,000 (₹3.73 Lakhs) monthly minimum Employment Pass salary threshold from day one. The 3-year MOE Tuition Grant bond runs concurrently with your Employment Pass, so a ₹1.24 Crore loan at 10.5% over 10 years, EMI approximately ₹1.68 Lakhs per month, is serviceable against an entry salary of ₹3.44 Lakhs per month; most students clear the loan within 5 to 6 years of graduating.

For The NUS MBA, the 17-month S$99,953 (₹74.66 Lakhs) tuition sits against a post-MBA median salary of roughly S$120,000 (₹89.62 Lakhs) per year in Singapore consulting or tech; a ₹1 Crore loan EMI of ₹1.35 Lakhs per month is easily covered on that pay band, giving a typical MBA payback horizon of 4 to 5 years.

Key Insight: For the August 2027 UG intake, the net cost of a Computing degree after the Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship (100% tuition, S$6,000 (₹4.48 Lakhs) per year living, accommodation) drops to essentially the airfare plus incidentals, a saving of roughly ₹75 Lakhs. Even without any scholarship, a NUS UG plus 3-year Singapore work bond typically breaks even 6 to 7 years post-graduation, making it one of the most financially sound international-study decisions available to an Indian student.

For the August 2027 intake, budget approximately ₹31 Lakhs for a UG Computing Year 1 on the MOE Tuition Grant, or ₹82 Lakhs total for a one-year taught Masters like MSc Business Analytics, before any scholarships. The Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship can drop UG net cost by ₹75 Lakhs over four years, while Inlaks and Narotam Sekhsaria awards can cover ₹20 to ₹86 Lakhs of Masters fees. On a ₹1 Crore MBA loan, the EMI works out to roughly ₹1.35 Lakhs per month against a median post-NUS-MBA Singapore salary of about ₹7.47 Lakhs per month, meaning payback in under five years. Your one action for the current cycle: lock the March 2027 scholarship deadlines into your calendar now and prepare referees and essays over the September-December 2026 window.

Accommodation is the largest line (S$1,000 to S$1,500, ₹74,686 to ₹1.12 Lakhs), food is S$350 to S$500 (₹26,140 to ₹37,343) with hawker meals from S$3 (₹224), and transport is S$100 to S$180 (₹7,469 to ₹13,444) on the student concession card.

Ques. Which National University of Singapore scholarships are open to Indian students for the August 2027 intake?

Ans. Indian UG students are eligible for the Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship (full tuition + S$6,000, ₹4.48 Lakhs, living + accommodation, with a 6-year bond), the NUS Global Merit Scholarship, and the NUS International Undergraduate Scholarship. All three are auto-considered through the UG admission form, which closes on 19 March 2027 for the August 2027 intake. The ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship is not open to Indian nationals.

Ques. How much does the National University of Singapore MBA cost for Indian students?

Ans. The full-time NUS MBA is S$99,953 (₹74.66 Lakhs) for the 17-month programme, inclusive of GST, with a S$10,900 (₹8.14 Lakhs) acceptance fee counted toward tuition. Adding 17 months of living costs at S$2,000 (₹1.49 Lakhs) per month, the total programme cost for an Indian student is approximately ₹1.00 Crore. An education loan of that size at 10.5% over 10 years works out to an EMI of roughly ₹1.35 Lakhs per month.

Ques. Has National University of Singapore tuition been increasing year on year?

Ans. Yes; international UG Computing tuition on the MOE Tuition Grant rose from S$17,980 (₹13.43 Lakhs) in AY 2022/2023 to S$21,400 (₹15.98 Lakhs) in AY 2026/2027, a five-year climb of about 19%. The last two years accelerated to 5.8% and 7.0% respectively, so budget for a 5-7% rise when the August 2027 (AY 2027/2028) rate is published in April 2027.

Ques. What visa do Indian students need for National University of Singapore and what does it cost?

Ans. Indian students need the Singapore Student Pass (STP), applied for through the SOLAR+ portal after NUS issues the In-Principle Approval letter. Total STP cost is S$120 (₹8,960): S$30 (₹2,241) application + S$60 (₹4,481) issuance + S$30 (₹2,241) multi-entry visa. Processing takes 4 to 6 weeks, so apply immediately once the IPA letter arrives to make the August intake start date comfortably.

Ques. Can Indian students work part-time at National University of Singapore to offset costs?

Ans. Yes; Student Pass holders at NUS can work up to 16 hours per week during term and full-time during vacation. Common on-campus roles as teaching assistants, research assistants, or library staff pay S$12 to S$20 per hour (₹896 to ₹1,494), generating S$700 to S$1,200 per month (₹52,280 to ₹89,624) during term time.

Ques. What is the National University of Singapore graduate median salary and does it justify the fees?

Ans. The NUS 2024 Graduate Employment Survey reports a fresh-graduate median monthly salary of S$4,600 (₹3.44 Lakhs) in full-time permanent employment, with over 90% employment within six months across 17 degree programmes. On a ₹1.24 Crore Computing UG loan at 10.5% over 10 years (EMI ₹1.68 Lakhs per month), Singapore-based graduates typically clear the loan within 5 to 6 years of graduating.

Course Curriculum

You require 160 MCs (Modular Credits) to graduate. 12 MCs are for internships and industrial attachment. Hence, we are encouraged to take up internships and get some hands-on knowledge in the industry. Apart from core modules, there are some university-level requirements and are known as General Education modules which are compulsory for all students. Computer Science has about 700 students. While we only have 1-2 professors for each module, we have the concept of tutorials where we are divided into smaller groups of 10-20 students and are assigned to a senior in the same course who conducts classes for a deeper understanding of the material.

Fees

Being a resident of Singapore, it is quite affordable. The University provides an option to sign a bond with the Government where we are required to work in Singapore for 3 years and in return, we get subsidized fees for all years in university. I opted for this option and hence my fees were quite subsidized.

I did Accounting and Finance from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and then I did Advanced Diploma from Trent College in Business Management and then I also did a Diploma in Biomedical Electronics and recently I got my certificate from NUS for Digital Marketing and Strategies. It was a short online course and it was ok. We were told to use stimuli to work on digital marketing. It is like a real-life situation but it is just a stimulus and we get certificate for it also so it was interesting. We got a lot of assignments and all.

Tuition fee is covered by scholarship. Hence, free to students.

Course curriculum is updated every semester by professors. We also had guest professors from MIT. Profs are very experienced and good at teaching. Will be getting industrial exposure / research experience in the coming years.

I've only finished my first semester here, so my firsthand experience with the overall course curriculum would be limited. However, from what I've studied so far, I can confidently say that the course syllabus is updated, relevant and really challenges students. The initial parts are adapted from the MIT curriculum and aims to build a very strong foundation. The way the syllabus is taught made me really appreciate the subject on another level (although the first semester was a huge jump from high school and is pretty challenging in my opinion). I haven't had industrial exposure/research experience yet (as I just finished my first semester), but NUS has great research opportunities and industrial exposure(internships are compulsory and you can choose from extra opportunities that the university notifies you with).

There were a few reasons I aspired to study at NUS. First, I wanted to pursue Computer Science, so I considered factors like programme quality, university rankings and expert opinion. Second, for my undergraduate studies, I preferred not too move too far away from Singapore. So, NUS was my #1 choice. Honestly, NUS is a very prestigious institution and the fact that CS is a competitive major there motivated me to take on the challenge. I felt that graduating from here would make me well-moulded to take on real-world challenges.

At NUS we are allocated one semester of internship (6 months) during Year 3. The courses are somewhat relevant as some basic teachings are definetly useful. However, since different internship requires different specific knowledge it is hard for universities to dive into depth concepts. NUS attempts to fill this void by giving us various options to pick from under technical electives which consists of depth and breadth modules.

National University of Singapore (NUS) is one of the top universities in the entire world. The feel of being in the best of the best gives me confidence and motivation. Moreover, I wanted to settle in Singapore thus NUS was the right answer. The University has amazing facilities with amazing professors with extremely smart individuals. I wanted to learn the different perspectives students of other races had.
