National University of Singapore courses include 60 undergraduate majors, 54 second majors and more than 80 minors. Degree choices span Computing, Business, Engineering, Design, Humanities and Sciences, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Music. Postgraduate options extend across computing, analytics, finance, engineering, science, health, policy and related fields.

The first useful filter is your current qualification. Mathematics can lead to Business Analytics, Computing and Engineering comparisons, while Biology or Chemistry may point towards health and pharmaceutical routes. At postgraduate level, your bachelor’s modules matter more than the broad subject label.

Major Faculties And Course Areas

  • Computing and data: computer science, business analytics, information security and computer engineering.
  • Business: business administration, accountancy and quantitative business options.
  • Design and Engineering: architecture, engineering, industrial design and landscape architecture.
  • Humanities and Sciences: humanities, environmental studies, food science, economics and interdisciplinary study.
  • Professional degrees: law, medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy and pharmaceutical science.

Start with your Indian qualification:

  • Class XII with Mathematics: compare Business Analytics, Business Administration, Computing and Engineering. Check the exact programme prerequisite next.
  • Class XII with Mathematics and Physics: Computer Engineering and other engineering routes become natural comparisons. Physics is not a substitute for the required Mathematics.
  • Class XII with Biology or Chemistry: check health, pharmacy and science options. Review the late-result restriction before choosing a professional degree.
  • Indian bachelor’s degree: match your transcript to the master’s course before comparing duration or fees. Technical programmes need technical preparation.

Indian students commonly compare Computer Science, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Computer Engineering and other engineering degrees at NUS. NUS does not publish an official popularity ranking, so “popular” here means representative options students often shortlist rather than a university-certified order.

Both courses suit students who are comfortable with Mathematics. Business Analytics adds economics and business decision-making. Computer Engineering adds electronics, hardware and systems.

Decision point Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering
Main academic direction Business decisions supported by statistics, computing and data analysis. Hardware-software systems, electronics and engineering design.
Course structure The first two years combine mathematics, statistics, economics, accounting, marketing, decision science, computing and information systems. Later study moves towards analytics and electives. A 160-unit engineering structure combines common engineering study with electronics, hardware, computer systems, software and design.
Indian subject check Mathematics is essential. Statistics, economics or computing can make the transition easier. Check Mathematics and Physics before shortlisting the programme.
Choose this route if You want analytics applied to markets, operations, finance or business decisions. You want to understand how computing hardware, electronics and software work together.
Check before applying Do not treat the word “business” as evidence of a non-technical curriculum. Do not choose it if you want only software and algorithms. Compare Computer Science as well.

Course-title check: “Computer Science”, “Business Analytics” and “Data Science” can overlap in name. They can differ in mathematics, programming, business, and project requirements. Compare first-year subjects before preparing documents.

NUS Postgraduate Courses 2026-27

NUS offers coursework master’s degrees, research degrees and doctoral routes. Indian students often compare the MBA, data science, computing, finance and business analytics options first. The programme names below show how their duration, subject depth and bachelor’s preparation differ.

NUS PG Course Table

Postgraduate duration varies more than undergraduate duration. Use the course focus and bachelor’s preparation together with the published candidature period.

Postgraduate course Duration and mode Academic focus Indian bachelor’s preparation to check
Master of Business Administration Full-time 17 months; part-time 24–30 months. Management, leadership, business functions, applied projects and career-focused electives. Check the required work experience, academic background, test route and interview expectations.
MSc Finance 16 months; full-time; 48 units. Finance foundations, investments, financial analysis and applied learning across three semesters. Check your quantitative preparation, finance background and the programme’s test and English requirements.
Master of Computing in Artificial Intelligence Full-time 18 months; part-time 30 months. Artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced computing. Check computing, mathematics and programming subjects. Relevant technical experience may matter for applicants from another bachelor’s field.
MSc Business Analytics Full-time 13 months; part-time 24 months. Business analytics delivered through NUS Business School and NUS Computing, with quantitative and applied learning. Check statistics, mathematics, computing and business preparation. A purely non-quantitative degree may need closer review.
Master of Computing in Computer Science Full-time 18 months; part-time 30 months. Advanced computer science and software-oriented computing study. Check the computing content of your bachelor’s degree. Programming and core computer science preparation are important filters.
Financial engineering, public health, science and engineering master’s degrees Course-specific duration and mode. Finance, health, science and engineering routes have different academic and professional conditions. Check the exact bachelor’s subject, mathematics level, work experience and any programme test.

NUS Popular PG Courses Among Indian Students

These are representative choices for Indian students deciding between technical AI training and business-facing analytics. NUS does not publish an official popularity ranking. The right choice depends on your bachelor’s modules and the role you want after graduation.

Decision point Master of Computing in Artificial Intelligence MSc Business Analytics
Main academic question Can I build or evaluate AI systems with strong technical depth? Can I use data and models to solve business problems?
Duration Full-time 18 months; part-time 30 months. Full-time 13 months; part-time 24 months.
Preparation to check Computing, mathematics and programming. A non-computing degree needs closer scrutiny. Statistics, mathematics, computing and business. Review the quantitative content of your transcript.
Better fit when You want AI, machine learning and advanced computing as the central subject. You want analytics applied through business, data and decision-making.
Do not assume A general interest in AI is enough without programming and mathematical preparation. A business degree automatically meets the programme’s quantitative expectations.

For a data-focused option, see the NUS MSc Data Science and Machine Learning details.

NUS Course Structure And Study Options

An NUS undergraduate applicant may choose a main degree and add a second major, minor, double-degree structure or special programme. These options affect workload and the final qualification. Identify the main degree before comparing add-ons.

  • Second major: two majors within a single degree. It is not necessarily an additional Honours degree.
  • Minor: a smaller academic focus that does not replace the main degree.
  • NUS College: a four-year Honours College experience with an enriched curriculum and an NUS College certificate alongside the faculty degree.
  • Special programmes: examples include the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme, Special Programme in Science and Engineering, and Scholars Programme.

Qualification check: a search result may show “NUS Business Analytics” or “NUS College”. Confirm whether it is the degree you will receive, a major within a degree or an additional programme. This distinction affects duration, tuition and eligibility.

NUS Eligibility For Indian Students

NUS distinguishes CBSE/ISC from State and other Indian boards. Both routes remain subject to programme prerequisites. NUS does not publish a universal percentage cutoff that replaces course-specific assessment.

Indian route Academic condition Test signal Important restriction
CBSE or ISC Good pass in five subjects including English. Not required under the current guidance. Late final results can exclude Dentistry, Law, Medicine and Nursing in that cycle.
State or other boards Good passes in five subjects including English. Standardised test required; see the test route below. The same late-result restriction applies to Dentistry, Law, Medicine and Nursing.
Indian bachelor’s degree Varies by master’s or research course. Programme-specific test, English or experience rules. Compare transcript subjects, mathematics, programming and research readiness.

Indian qualification check: NUS’s “good pass” wording is not a universal percentage promise. Read the NUS Indian qualification guidance with the exact programme prerequisite. State and other board applicants should confirm the standardised-test requirement before planning the application.

NUS Course Tests And Timing

NUS does not have one common undergraduate entrance examination for every Indian applicant. The relevant test depends on the board route and, in some cases, the programme. Identify the course before committing to a test plan.

  • CBSE/ISC: SAT, ACT and AP are not required under the current guidance.
  • State or other boards: NUS currently names SAT, ACT with Writing or AP as the standardised-test route. JEE Main and Advanced are not required.
  • What these tests mean: SAT and ACT with Writing are undergraduate aptitude tests. AP means Advanced Placement subject examinations. They are different from JEE and should be planned around the NUS application timeline.
  • Architecture, Industrial Design and Landscape Architecture: an additional aptitude test may be held in June, subject to programme conditions.
  • Postgraduate courses: GMAT, GRE, English tests, interviews and work experience vary by programme.

The published AY2026/27 undergraduate cycle closed on 23 February 2026. The next Indian-qualification deadline should be checked when NUS releases its AY2027/28 schedule. Postgraduate dates can differ by programme, so use the exact course timeline rather than the undergraduate deadline.

After shortlisting a course, check the NUS admissions information for the application route.

NUS Course Fees And Tuition Grant

Fees are a shortlisting filter, not a substitute for the dedicated fees comparison. NUS’s AY2026/27 undergraduate schedule is cohort-based. Indian students fall under “All other International Students”, not ASEAN6.

AY2026/27 scenario Annual international tuition range Approximate INR range
With MOE Tuition Grant S$18,050–S$74,750 About ₹13.40–₹55.49 lakh
Without MOE Tuition Grant S$33,400–S$190,150 About ₹24.80–₹141.16 lakh
Other costs Living, accommodation, insurance, deposits and travel Budget separately

These are annual undergraduate figures for Semesters 1 and 2. They are not the total cost of the degree. Approximate INR values use ₹74.2377 per S$1, the Xe mid-market rate at 00:55 UTC on 7 August 2026. Bank, card and remittance rates may differ.

Tuition Grant decision: accepting the MOE Tuition Grant gives an international undergraduate the subsidised fee. It also creates a three-year work obligation with a Singapore entity after graduation. Declining the grant means paying the non-subsidised fee. Compare both amounts before calling a course affordable, then see the NUS course fee information.

Ques. Do State-board students need SAT, ACT or AP for NUS?

Ans. NUS currently names SAT, ACT with Writing or AP as the standardised-test route for applicants from State and other boards. SAT and ACT with Writing are undergraduate aptitude tests, while AP means Advanced Placement subject examinations. JEE Main and JEE Advanced are not required under this guidance.

Ques. What is the MOE Tuition Grant for NUS international students?

Ans. It is the tuition-subsidy route used in NUS’s fee schedule. An international undergraduate who accepts it pays the subsidised fee but takes on a three-year work obligation with a Singapore entity after graduation. Declining it means paying the non-subsidised fee.

Ques. How long do NUS postgraduate courses take?

Ans. Duration depends on the programme and mode. Current examples include 18 months full-time for the Master of Computing and 13 months full-time for MSc Business Analytics.
