Undergraduate students who do not receive the *MOE Tuition Grant pay S$33,400 to S$43,050 (₹24.95 to ₹32.15 Lakhs) per year, depending on the programme.

  • UG Computing with the MOE Tuition Grant: S$21,400 per year (₹15.98 Lakhs)
  • UG Business with the MOE Tuition Grant: S$22,200 per year (₹16.58 Lakhs)
  • UG Computing without the MOE Tuition Grant: S$39,700 per year (₹29.65 Lakhs)

  • The NUS MBA: S$99,953 for the full 17-month programme (₹74.66 Lakhs)
  • Monthly Cost of Living: S$11,400 (₹8.16 lakhs)

A one-year taught Master’s programme at NUS can cost approximately ₹51 to ₹83 Lakhs in total, including tuition and estimated living expenses, depending on the programme and accommodation choice. A four-year undergraduate Computing degree with the MOE Tuition Grant can cost approximately ₹72 to ₹80 Lakhs overall, including tuition and estimated living expenses.

Exchange rate: 1 SGD = ₹74.6864 (July 2026).

The MOE Tuition Grant is a tuition subsidy provided by Singapore’s Ministry of Education (MOE) to reduce the cost of full time undergraduate study at autonomous universities such as the National University of Singapore (NUS).

National University of Singapore Tuition Fees by Programme

NUS runs a two-tier international fee system: students who accept the MOE Tuition Grant (a Singapore government subsidy that comes with a 3-year service bond in a Singapore-registered company) pay roughly 45% less than students who decline the grant and pay full international fees.

  • Both tiers are inclusive of 9% Goods and Services Tax.
  • Most Indian undergraduates opt into the Tuition Grant since Singapore’s post-study job market makes the bond straightforward to serve.

National University of Singapore Tuition Deposit and Payment Options

NUS acceptance fees vary by programme and are generally payable after an applicant accepts an admission offer. For example, the NUS MBA and MSc Business Analytics require an acceptance fee of S$10,900, which is included in the total programme tuition fee. The acceptance fee for other taught Master’s programmes may differ, so applicants should check the official fee page for their selected programme.

Acceptance fees are generally non refundable, and some programmes also classify them as non transferable. The amount may be credited toward the total programme tuition fee, depending on the programme’s payment structure. Applicants should not assume that one acceptance fee applies across all NUS undergraduate or postgraduate programmes.

The acceptance fee and the Singapore Student’s Pass process are separate. International students should follow the instructions provided in their admission offer and complete the required Student’s Pass application procedures separately.

Methods of Payment for National University of Singapore Tuition

  • Bank telegraphic transfer (TT): A direct SWIFT wire to DBS Bank Singapore in NUS’s account; the slowest and typically the most expensive option (₹1,500 to ₹3,000 correspondent fees on top of the exchange spread).
  • Convera GlobalPay / Flywire: NUS’s own international payment partners quote the mid-market SGD rate with a fixed processing fee, typically saving 2-3% versus a raw bank wire.
  • Forex card / multi-currency card: Load SGD when the rate is favourable, then pay via card at NUS’s online portal.
  • Education loan disbursement: Loans from HDFC Credila, Avanse, ICICI, or SBI can be disbursed directly to NUS by wire; keep the sanction letter ready for your Student Pass file.

Steps to Pay Tuition Fees at National University of Singapore for International Students

  1. Accept your offer through the NUS applicant portal within two weeks of the offer email.
  2. Pay the acceptance fee through Convera / Flywire.
  3. Receive the In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter needed to apply for your Singapore Student Pass; expect this 5 to 10 working days after payment.
  4. Pay Semester 1 balance by the invoiced due date, typically two weeks before the semester starts.
  5. Pay Semester 2 balance by the January invoice due date.
  6. Keep every payment receipt and IPA letter in your Student Pass and tax-relief file.

Fee Saving Strategies at National University of Singapore for Indian Students

For the August 2027 intake, the single highest-value lever is deciding on the MOE Tuition Grant before you accept your offer; the second is claiming Section 80E tax relief on your Indian education loan from disbursement year one.

  • Accept the MOE Tuition Grant if eligible: Saves ₹13.67 Lakhs per year on Computing UG versus full fee, in exchange for a 3-year work bond in Singapore. Singapore’s post-study Employment Pass path makes this the default choice for most Indian UG students.
  • Apply for on-campus PGP or UTown accommodation immediately: Saves S$500 to S$700 per month (₹4.48 to ₹6.28 Lakhs per year) versus a private co-living apartment in Buona Vista.
  • Claim Section 80E tax relief in India: The interest portion of your Indian education loan is fully deductible for up to 8 years; on a ₹50 Lakh loan at 10.5%, that shelters up to ₹5.25 Lakhs of taxable income in Year 1 alone.
  • Take on-campus part-time work (up to 16 hours/week): STP holders can work as teaching assistants, research assistants, or in the library at roughly S$12 to S$20 per hour (₹896 to ₹1,494), generating S$700 to S$1,200 per month (₹52,280 to ₹89,624) during term.
  • Use the NUS Alumni 20% tuition rebate for a second qualification: If you have already completed an NUS degree, subsequent taught Masters programmes offer a 20% tuition rebate; combined with the merit awards, this can drop a S$85,000 (₹63.48 Lakhs) MSBA to under S$70,000 (₹52.28 Lakhs).

Is National University of Singapore Worth the Cost for Indian Students

A NUS Computing UG on the MOE Tuition Grant totals ₹1.24 Crore across four years; a taught Masters averages ₹65 to ₹82 Lakhs all-in for one year. Against that, NUS ranks #10 in the QS World University Rankings 2027, #17 in Times Higher Education World Rankings 2026, and #3 across Asia (QS Asia 2026), with the NUS 2024 Graduate Employment Survey showing a fresh-graduate median monthly salary of S$4,600 (₹3.44 Lakhs) and over 90% employment within six months across 17 degree programmes.

  • Singapore’s post-study Employment Pass path is genuinely favourable to NUS graduates: a Computing or Business graduate can typically clear the S$5,000 (₹3.73 Lakhs) monthly minimum Employment Pass salary threshold from day one.
  • The 3-year MOE Tuition Grant bond runs concurrently with your Employment Pass, so a ₹1.24 Crore loan at 10.5% over 10 years, EMI approximately ₹1.68 Lakhs per month, is serviceable against an entry salary of ₹3.44 Lakhs per month; most students clear the loan within 5 to 6 years of graduating.
  • For The NUS MBA, the 17-month S$99,953 (₹74.66 Lakhs) tuition sits against a post-MBA median salary of roughly S$120,000 (₹89.62 Lakhs) per year in Singapore consulting or tech; a ₹1 Crore loan EMI of ₹1.35 Lakhs per month is easily covered on that pay band, giving a typical MBA payback horizon of 4 to 5 years.

For the August 2027 intake, budget approximately ₹31 Lakhs for a UG Computing Year 1 on the MOE Tuition Grant, or ₹82 Lakhs total for a one-year taught Masters like MSc Business Analytics, before any scholarships. The Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship can drop UG net cost by ₹75 Lakhs over four years, while Inlaks and Narotam Sekhsaria awards can cover ₹20 to ₹86 Lakhs of Masters fees. On a ₹1 Crore MBA loan, the EMI works out to roughly ₹1.35 Lakhs per month against a median post-NUS-MBA Singapore salary of about ₹7.47 Lakhs per month, meaning payback in under five years. Your one action for the current cycle: lock the March 2027 scholarship deadlines into your calendar now and prepare referees and essays over the September-December 2026 window.
