University of Bedfordshire Admission 2027
Bedfordshire runs two intakes for international students: the main September entry for every programme and a January entry for selected business, computing and health masters. The September intake is the primary route for Indian applicants and carries the widest course choice.
| Milestone | Date | Notes for Indian Applicants |
|---|---|---|
| September 2026 intake close | Expected 29 August 2026 (based on prior cycle) | Final CAS release window; verify at official page |
| January 2027 intake close | Expected 15 November 2026 | Limited to listed masters; per-course closure date on each programme page |
| September 2027 intake open | Expected October 2026 (based on prior cycle) | Rolling admissions with no fixed close date |
| Credential verification (WES/ECCTIS) | Start 8 weeks before deadline | ECCTIS statement often required for regulated health courses |
| Programme start | 21 September 2026 / 25 January 2027 | Orientation begins one week before teaching |
Planning note: Indian students applying for January 2027 should submit at least 12 weeks in advance because Bedfordshire pauses new international decisions for a fortnight around the UK winter break in late December.

University of Bedfordshire Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
Bedfordshire uses a lower minimum bar than most Russell Group universities (a UK research-intensive group of 24 universities) and accepts three-year Indian bachelor’s degrees for direct entry to master’s.
Postgraduate Requirements for Indian Applicants
- Academic: Bachelor’s degree with 55% or CGPA 5.5/10 (recommended); a "good honours degree" as officially phrased.
- English: IELTS 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each band; TOEFL iBT 72 or PTE Academic 51; DET 100.
- Credential check: ECCTIS statement of comparability for regulated programmes only.
- Standout: No GRE or GMAT required for the MBA; two years of work experience preferred but not mandatory.
Undergraduate Requirements for Indian Applicants
- Academic: Class 12 with 65% to 75% from CBSE, ISC or a recognised state board (recommended); Nursing requires 70%+ with Biology.
- English: IELTS 5.5 to 6.0 depending on course; Class 12 English at 70% accepted in place of IELTS for most non-regulated subjects.
Key insight: Bedfordshire waives the IELTS for Indian applicants who scored 70%+ in Class 12 English from CBSE or ISC boards, cutting one exam and around INR 17,000 from the application budget.
University of Bedfordshire Acceptance Rate 2027
Bedfordshire does not publish an official offer-to-application ratio; the working figure is 62% (estimated) based on the UK Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) admission-cycle disclosures for post-92 UK universities. Estimate reliability is medium — actual conversion varies sharply by course, with computing and business tracking higher than nursing.
Applicants meeting the published 55% bachelor’s threshold and IELTS 6.0 minimum see materially higher offer rates than the university-wide average.
Reality check: Bedfordshire is one of the more accessible UK entry points for Indian students, but the offer is conditional on ECCTIS clearance and CAS release, so time your APS-equivalent checks and English test to sit at least 10 weeks before the intake.

University of Bedfordshire vs Peer Universities
The peer set below covers three UK post-92 universities that share Bedfordshire’s fee band, city-region positioning and international student profile.
| University | THE World Rank 2026 | Collegedunia Study Abroad | Avg Annual PG Fee (GBP / INR lakh) | Differentiator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| University of Bedfordshire | #801-1000 | #853 | 13,600 / 17.4 lakh | Lowest fee in the UK South East, four-campus network |
| University of Hertfordshire | #801-1000 | NA | 16,750 / 21.5 lakh | Stronger engineering and aerospace industry links |
| Middlesex University London | #601-800 | NA | 17,300 / 22.2 lakh | North London location, higher business rank |
| University of East London | #601-800 | NA | 17,220 / 22.1 lakh | Docklands campus, strong sport science |
Bedfordshire stands out for its India-specific GBP 3,000 High Achievers award and the lowest tuition-plus-living combined budget among peer post-92 universities in the London commuter belt. The four-campus footprint gives applicants a genuine choice between Luton’s cost advantage and Bedford’s teaching-and-sport strengths.
The University of Bedfordshire suits Indian students who prioritise a total two-year investment near INR 65 lakh against a UK median postgraduate salary of INR 33.9 lakh, and who value a straightforward 55% bachelor’s entry bar paired with the two-year Graduate Route work visa. The India merit award and IELTS waiver on Class 12 English make the application affordable and quick to close.
It is not the right pick for applicants targeting a QS top-200 brand or a research-intensive PhD pipeline; a strong alternative for that profile is the University of Leicester, which offers a comparable fee band with a QS top-300 ranking and Russell Group heritage.
University of Bedfordshire FAQs
Ques. Does the University of Bedfordshire offer English-taught bachelor programmes to Indian students?
Ans. Yes, every undergraduate degree at Bedfordshire is taught fully in English, and there are 180-plus bachelor programmes across business, computing, health, education, sport, law and creative arts. Indian applicants apply directly through UCAS or the university’s international portal, and Class 12 English at 70% is accepted in place of IELTS for most non-regulated subjects, cutting one exam from the application budget.
Ques. Can Bedfordshire students work part-time during their studies?
Ans. Yes, Student visa holders at Bedfordshire can work up to 20 hours per week during term-time and full-time in vacation periods, as set by the UK Home Office. Common on-campus roles include library assistants, student ambassadors and paid research assistantships, while Luton town centre offers retail, hospitality and warehouse work paying the UK National Living Wage of GBP 11.44 per hour or higher.
Ques. Is the GRE or GMAT required for the University of Bedfordshire MBA?
Ans. No, the Bedfordshire MBA does not require GRE or GMAT scores from Indian applicants; a bachelor’s degree with 55% in any discipline is the primary academic bar. Two years of work experience is preferred but not mandatory, and applicants without it can strengthen their file with a stronger statement of purpose or a professional certification such as CFA Level 1 or PMP.
Ques. Which Indian banks offer education loans for Bedfordshire University?
Ans. Bedfordshire is listed on the recognised university panels of SBI Global Ed-Vantage, HDFC Credila, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and Prodigy Finance, which offer both secured and unsecured loans up to INR 75 lakh. The CAS letter is accepted as proof of admission for loan disbursement, and unsecured loans up to INR 40 lakh are commonly approved without collateral for STEM and MBA courses.
Ques. What is the application fee at the University of Bedfordshire and can it be waived?
Ans. The University of Bedfordshire does not charge an application fee for direct applications submitted through its international portal, whether at undergraduate or postgraduate level. UCAS-routed undergraduate applications carry the standard UCAS fee of GBP 28.50 for 2027 entry. Indian applicants who apply through authorised education counsellors also pay no additional platform charge.
Ques. Can dependents accompany an Indian student to Bedfordshire on the Student visa?
Ans. Since January 2024 UK rules only allow dependents on the Student visa for full-time research-based postgraduate courses, so most Bedfordshire taught masters students cannot bring a spouse or child on a dependent visa. PhD candidates and government-sponsored students remain eligible, and the financial proof for one dependent is GBP 845 per month for locations outside London.
Ques. How is an Indian transcript verified for admission to Bedfordshire University?
Ans. Bedfordshire accepts scanned copies of Indian transcripts at offer stage and requests attested hard copies before CAS issue. For regulated programmes in nursing, midwifery, social work and teaching, an ECCTIS statement of comparability confirms the Indian bachelor’s degree matches UK level 6, and this process runs GBP 149.50 and takes 10 to 15 working days.
Ques. What is the refund policy if an Indian student’s UK Student visa is refused?
Ans. Bedfordshire refunds the full tuition deposit if an Indian applicant’s Student visa is refused, subject to submission of the visa refusal letter within 30 days of the decision. An administrative fee of GBP 200 is retained where the refusal is due to applicant error, such as fraudulent documents. Refunds are processed within 30 working days to the original payment source.

- There are many clubs such as every subject has its own club, Religious clubs as well, sports clubs, and many more. Many activities and events took place when it was Diwali, they organised a Diwali event where we did pooja and then they distributed prasad as well. When there was Ramadan, the same happened.
- The library is very huge. it's its building with 7 floors and a lot of books and e-books are accessible. They also help us with our assignment writing as well.

Overview
I chose this University because this is internationally recognised and award winning university with the heritage of quality of education going back more than 100 years. First you need to submit you IELTS score wiith a minimum score of 6 bands. Then they send you an offer letter within 1 or 2 weeks. After that, they will share the payment process and you have to submit the fees accordingly. I took classes from Aim Overseas to prepare for my interview exam.
Campus Life
The classmates are very friendly in nature and very supportive. There is a cafe in the university where you can avail student discount. There are students from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Columbia, Bangladesh, Nepal and many more.Library facilities are very appreciable. All the necessary facilities are easily available to students. You can also borrow laptop without any charges just by showing your id for your university work. Majority of sports facilities are available but one thing that I miss is Cricket.

Overview
I chose this university as it was the only available institute when I was applying.
Campus Life
It is usual, all facilities are available. Specially it has 4 cafeterias.
Overview
I consulted Career Connection Consultancy which is located in Valsad. I took coaching from the consultancy itself for IELTS preparation and the Consultancy guided me right from the beginning till the end till I migrated to the United Kingdom. The accommodation was also arranged by the consultancy itself. The consultancy helped me make the right choice of selection for the course and university. After migrating to the UK there was a constant support from the consultancy so that we don't feel homesick in the new country away from the family.
Campus Life
Campus Life was totally a different experience. The university is surrounded by diverse people from all around the world. There are different facilities like the library, with a huge database of books that can be issued any time along with the 24-hour open access to students. There is a sports club as well, students with an interest in sports can get involved. There is a cafeteria for one to grab food. The medical facility is also provided by the university. All the students are enrolled for a free NHS.
