Anglia Ruskin University Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
Anglia Ruskin University admission requirements for Indian students centre on prior academic performance, an accepted English test score and ECCTIS credential verification for selected routes.
Postgraduate requirements:
- Academic record: Indian bachelor’s degree with 55% or CGPA 5.5 out of 10 (recommended) in a relevant field; competitive programmes expect 60% or CGPA 6.0.
- English language: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each component for most taught masters; TOEFL iBT 72 and PTE Academic 56 are accepted at equivalent levels.
- Credential verification: ECCTIS NARIC statement for nursing, teaching and other regulated professional programmes.
- Programme-specific: Nursing requires NMC English evidence and prior nursing registration; the MBA prefers two years of post-qualification work experience.
Undergraduate requirements:
- Academic record: Indian Class 12 (CBSE, ISC or recognised state board) with 65% to 70% (recommended) overall; science and nursing routes expect 70% in relevant subjects.
- English language: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each component or an accepted equivalent; Class 12 English of 65% can waive the test for medium-of-instruction candidates.
Key insight: ARU grants IELTS waivers to Indian applicants whose Class 12 schooling was fully English-medium and whose Class 12 English score sits at 65% or higher. Request a medium-of-instruction letter from your school principal before applying.
Anglia Ruskin University Acceptance Rate 2027
Anglia Ruskin University maintains an acceptance rate of 50% to 60% (estimated) for international applicants, placing it among the more accessible UK universities for Indian students. The university does not publish an official admission ratio, so this figure is derived from third-party admission data for recent cycles and should be treated as directional.
The rate is noticeably higher for taught masters than for competitive nursing and medical routes. ARU reviews each application individually and gives weight to work experience, statement of purpose and English test performance alongside the academic transcript.
Reality check: A 55% bachelor’s degree with an IELTS 6.0 is typically sufficient for a conditional offer at most ARU taught masters programmes. Competitive routes such as MSc Clinical Nursing and MBA with scholarship consideration run a tighter 60% to 65% academic bar.

Anglia Ruskin University Placements and Career Outcomes 2027
Anglia Ruskin University reports strong early-career outcomes for its international graduates, with recent cohorts recording high rates of UK employment or further study within 15 months of graduation.
- Graduate outcomes: 90%+ of ARU graduates were in employment or further study 15 months after completion (as per the official Graduate Outcomes survey).
- Median starting salary: £28,000 per year (₹35.80 Lakh) across taught masters cohorts (market median).
- MBA median post-degree salary: £36,000 per year (₹46.02 Lakh) (market median).
- Representative recruiters: NHS Trusts, Deloitte UK, PwC, Barclays, AstraZeneca and Marshall Aerospace recruit on-campus or through London-area milkrounds (recruiter sectors; not an official ARU employer list).
- Career support: ARU Employability Service runs CV reviews, visa-sponsor workshops and the two-year Graduate Route visa briefings for Indian graduates.
Insider note: Nursing and computing graduates have the strongest UK sponsorship pipelines, with NHS Trusts and mid-size London tech firms willing to issue Skilled Worker visas within six months of the Graduate Route start.
Anglia Ruskin University vs Peer Universities
The peer set below groups ARU with similarly priced UK public universities that Indian masters applicants typically shortlist alongside it. Comparison data is anchored on QS 2026, Collegedunia Study Abroad rank and the average annual PG tuition.
| University | QS Rank 2026 | Collegedunia Study Abroad | Avg Annual PG Fee (GBP) | Avg Annual PG Fee (INR) | Differentiator |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anglia Ruskin University | #501 to #550 | #502 of 824 | £18,290 | ₹23.38 Lakh | Three intakes a year with a Cambridge base |
| University of Hertfordshire | NA | NA | NA | NA | Business and tech links near London |
| Coventry University | NA | NA | NA | NA | Multi-campus delivery with online MBAs |
| Oxford Brookes University | NA | NA | NA | NA | Oxford location and strong teaching reputation |
ARU stands out on three counts: three annual intakes versus the single-September pattern at most peers, a Cambridge address at a mid-tier UK fee point, and a stable QS 501-550 band maintained for five consecutive years.
Anglia Ruskin University suits Indian students targeting a Cambridge-adjacent address at a mid-market UK fee, with three annual intakes to time their move. Total yearly outlay of ₹44 Lakh to ₹50 Lakh is defensible when weighed against the £28,000 (₹35.80 Lakh) median early-career salary and the two-year Graduate Route visa pathway.
ARU is not the pick for applicants chasing a Russell Group label or a top-200 QS rank. Candidates with a 70%+ academic record and GRE readiness should consider the University of Birmingham or the University of Nottingham as stronger-ranked alternatives at similar fee bands.
Anglia Ruskin University FAQs
Ques. Can Indian students apply to Anglia Ruskin University without IELTS?
Ans. Yes. ARU accepts a medium-of-instruction letter from Indian applicants whose Class 12 schooling was fully English-medium and whose Class 12 English score sits at 65% or higher. The letter must come from the school principal on official letterhead. For regulated nursing and teaching routes, IELTS Academic 6.0 or an equivalent accepted test remains mandatory and cannot be waived.
Ques. What is the application fee for ARU for Indian applicants?
Ans. ARU does not charge an application fee for direct taught masters or undergraduate applications submitted through its online portal. Applications routed through UCAS for undergraduate programmes carry the standard UCAS fee of £28.50 (₹3,643) for a single-choice application. Agents operating in India may charge separate processing fees that are not part of the ARU admission cost.
Ques. Does ARU require GRE or GMAT scores for Indian applicants?
Ans. No. GRE and GMAT are not mandatory for Anglia Ruskin University taught masters or MBA admission. Indian applicants are assessed on their bachelor’s degree percentage, English test score, statement of purpose and work experience where relevant. Submitting a strong GRE or GMAT score can strengthen an MBA application or support a scholarship case, but it does not replace the bachelor’s degree requirement.
Ques. How long is the UK Graduate Route visa after Anglia Ruskin University?
Ans. Taught masters graduates qualify for a two-year Graduate Route visa in the United Kingdom. Doctoral graduates receive a three-year Graduate Route visa. The route allows full-time work with any employer at any skill level and does not require sponsorship. Applicants must apply from inside the UK before the Student visa expires and must have completed the course successfully.
Ques. Which Indian banks offer education loans for Anglia Ruskin University?
Ans. Anglia Ruskin University sits on the preferred-university lists of SBI Global Ed-Vantage, HDFC Credila, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and non-banking lenders such as Avanse and InCred. Loans up to ₹1.50 Crore are available on a secured basis against property and up to ₹40 Lakh unsecured for strong academic profiles. CIBIL above 750 and a co-applicant income of ₹8 Lakh per year improve approval odds.
Ques. Can ARU Student visa holders bring dependents to the UK?
Ans. Under current UK rules, taught masters students at Anglia Ruskin University cannot bring dependents on a Student visa. Dependent visas are allowed only for government-sponsored students on courses of six months or longer and for PhD research students. Spouses and children of taught masters applicants must apply separately on an alternative visa route to join during the study period.
Ques. What English-medium documents does Anglia Ruskin University accept from Indian schools?
Ans. ARU accepts a medium-of-instruction letter signed by the school principal confirming that all subjects at Class 11 and Class 12 were taught and examined in English. The letter must be on original school letterhead and dated within one year of application. Class 12 English scores of 65% or higher are also required alongside the letter to satisfy the English waiver route.
Ques. Is ARU recognised by WES for Indian credential evaluation?
Ans. Yes. Anglia Ruskin University degrees are recognised by WES (World Education Services) for both US and Canada credential evaluation. Indian bachelor’s transcripts submitted during admission are typically verified via ECCTIS NARIC for professional routes and via internal ARU admissions review for standard taught masters. WES evaluation is not required for ARU admission itself but is often needed for post-study work in North America.

Location was a key factor. I wanted to study in Cambridge because there are a large number of students from all over the world in Cambridge. The diverse environment, along with extremely professional University staff helped allowed me to have the best possible university life for the past three years.
Overview
It was one of those closer to home but still with a good reputation and offering the course I wanted. The entry requirements also fit my A level results and the people at the open day seemed nice. The course was selected through clearing.
Fees
I was charged 9250(UK Limit) per year of study. Paid for by Student Loans Company. Accommodation around 164/week.
