Most UK students receive means-tested student finance, which includes college funds and maintenance loans, based on parental income. Sports-based scholarships are also available. Late applications may affect eligibility, but applying between November and December can lead to a partial scholarship of up to £10,000. High achievers may qualify for the Gates Cambridge or Commonwealth Scholarship, potentially covering up to £60,000, with most scholarships reserved for PhD students as over 80% of MPhil students self-fund.
